Ένα σοβαρό διπλωματικό επεισόδιο αναμέσα στον Έλληνα υπουργό Εξωτερικών Νίκο Δένδια και στην προσωρινή κυβέρνηση της Λιβύης, είχαμε πριν από λίγη ώρα, σήμερα το πρωί, καθώς το αεροσκάφος που μετέφερε τον Έλληνα αξιωματούχο στην Τρίπολη, για να πραγματοποιηθεί προγραμματισμένη συνάντηση με τον πρόεδρο της Λιβύης, Μοχάμεντ αλ Μένφι, πήρε εντολή να απογειωθεί και πάλι, καθώς στο αεροδρόμιο τον ανέμενε η Λίβυα υπουργός εξωτερικών, Νάιλα Μανγκούς, κάτι που είχε συμφωνηθεί να μην συμβεί.
Αναλυτικότερα το Ελληνικό ΥΠΕΞ εξέδωσε την εξής ανακοίνωση:
«Η επίσκεψη του Υπουργού Εξωτερικών, Νίκου Δένδια, στην Τρίπολη, όπου είχε προγραμματιστεί να συναντήσει τον Πρόεδρο Μένφι, ματαιώθηκε καθώς το λιβυκό Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών αθέτησε τη συμφωνία που υπήρχε, όσον αφορά τη μη συνάντηση με τη Λίβυα ΥΠΕΞ.
Το σκέλος της επίσκεψης στην Ανατολική Λιβύη συνεχίζει κανονικά.»

A serious diplomatic incident between the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias and the interim government of Libya happened a few hours ago, this morning, as the plane that was transporting the Greek official to Tripoli, for a scheduled meeting with the Libyan president, Mohammed al-Menfi, was ordered to take off again, as the Libyan foreign minister, Najla Mangoush, was waiting for him at the airport, something that had been agreed not to happen.
In more detail, the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the following statement:
"The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, to Tripoli, where he was scheduled to meet with President Menfi, was canceled as the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs violated the existing agreement, regarding the non-meeting with the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The leg of the visit to Eastern Libya continues as normal."
