OBON Honor our Ancestors San Jose Japantown 2019 1.0

When the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin celebrates Obon, 1000's from all around the world attend and participate in games, food, books and lectures. Entertainment by taiko groups and the honorary Bon Odori draws 1000's of dancers to live music highlight the celebration. This huge event is embraced by the entire San Jose Japantown merchants, organizations and recruits 100's of volunteers not only church members. This video highlights some of the activities around the Obon celebration including the Japanese American Museum-San Jose and the ArtObject Gallery.
