SUMMER FISHING DEEP BASS (Expectations vs Reality)

Bass fishing in summer can be hit or miss sometimes. Besides the early and late evening topwater bass feeding, it can be a challenge to find the bass on deep spots like ledges, road beds, brush piles, standing timber and humps. Today I'm on Lake Ray Roberts trying to figure out some deep fishing spots for bass in the summer using the electronics on my skeeter bass boat. One fishing freak figured out the best bite using Googan Baits trench hogs from Googan HQ.

Live just north of Ray Roberts so I fish it quite a bit. It's a tough lake for me. I could show you so many places not to catch fish.

I'll give you some bass advice for this lake. Use a red 5-8' diving crank bait along the dam about 8 feet out from where the water meets the rock. Use a semi-fast retrieve.
