In 1987 husband graduated with a masters degree in engineering and the starting salary was around $90k. Bought land and starter home for around $120. Eggs were around 40 cents a dozen.

2024. Son graduates with a masters degree in a stem field. Starting salary is $90k. Looking for a house to buy. Same size home in similar city, same state now costs between $320-420k with no land, just a small lot. Eggs are $4 per dozen. Same starting salary in similar field.
