This was an entirely new type of video, and I absolutely love it! Obviously having official Kotlin news on this channel is great, but I really think this new format of just coding something, and also showing the problems encountered on the way, is just great, authentic, educational and a lot of fun! I'd love to see more of this!

The GitHub count discrepancy is probably all around data access patterns. They probably have a different pattern for each of the 3 ways you fetched the data, and it's possible one or more of the repositories is missing an attribute that is keyed on one or more of those patterns. This is assuming they're using a noSQL backend, which I believe they are.

Wow! That looks similar to how I develop in Ruby. This is why I'm learning Kotlin now. ;)
