INTJ's Auxiliary Cognitive Function: Extroverted Thinking

I discuss INTJ's Auxiliary Cognitive Function: Extroverted Thinking. How does it work. How does it connect up with Introverted Intuition?

One of the true strengths of the INTJ personality type is that we are strongly rational in our approach to life. This does not primarily come from our intuition, which is almost mystical, making connections even when reason and logic make those connections seem impossible.

But our extraverted thinking is completely rational and builds upon logic and facts directly. It is having the best of both worlds: enjoying the intuitive fantasy of "believing as many as six impossible things before breakfast," and at the same time using our Auxiliary extroverted thinking which is connected directly to the rational world, rejecting the illogical, embracing the abstract, while analyzing the things around us systematically.

One of the best videos about the INTJ on YouTube, if not the best. Well done

This makes us INTJs sound so mysterious. For me the process seems so natural, I have trouble even imagining that it works different differently for someone else. xD

I started laughing at "INTJ's are never bored, our brains won't allow it." I've always felt that way. Oh wait, I get really bored at listening to gossip. Nonetheless, thanks, I feel so much more understood listening to you.

I've often ran into the situation where I basically shatter the delusion of some feeler's dearly held idea. Even close ones. I've come to deduce that they are belief/feeling oriented, and have no interest in facts. Take a flat earther into space and show them the world is round, and they will say it is a trick. Because their minds refuse to take account of logic and rationality. It used to infuriate me that they let such a defective mental process absolve them from any rational responsibility. But nowadays, I just deem them beyond redemption, so to speak, and pretend they never existed. That last part is harder if the person in question is close, but sticking neutral cannot always go on without some eventual conflict. I do find that the offended party tends to forget all about it days later, while the incident is widely present in my memory for years to come. Odd, isn't it? :p

Spot on. I feel your adolescent pain. Dealing with awkward thinkers everyday.

So much of this rings correct as to be almost painful, yet also reassuring; especially regarding others' misinterpretations of our demeanors, and intentions, as well as a complete lack of understanding our needs or wants. Sometimes, that same satisfaction you found so profoundly in the communication between your parents, can, at least in my experience, come from performing a similar task in music, bridging the the gap/s in understanding between fellow players, especially when the concepts are too complex for the vocabulary of the creator, but the ideas are solid and repeatable. The analytical mind veritably chews the concepts apart, and makes sense of them, sometimes initially in an overly complex manner, but quickly simplifying and distilling, while exercising the utmost of care to not lose the essence of what makes the idea unique, then allows us to explain those concepts in manageable blocks of information patiently and completely, not accepting less than complete efforts to digest said ideas, and learn their part correctly to enable the whole system that is the particular piece of music achieve correct execution.

I wish that this MBTI system would have been taught to me in school. Junior High would have been a completely different experience, and it would have given me such an advantage...lol...

INTJ Extroverted Thinking:
I've read this post before but then I never really connected it's implications to what had/have been happening in my life for more than five years now. Realisation dawned on me since this week and I can now admit that I had been drawn unwittingly as a participant in a virtual game developed by an audacious game developer. From that time on to the present, I can recall vividly the results/impact of the ensuing events to my life due to the actions/reactions I contributed into the game's success or failure.

During the years which I did research, I would plan for days, weeks and months in advance via a self-created Excel sheet. Presently (as I'm still unemployed as of this typing), I've been planning one week at a time on upskilling and job searching, as well as social events (which I find just as important--it helps me get out of my head, which can be a problem).

Fascinating stuff. I am an INFP. I have a tremendous amount of respect (and even envy on occasion) for personality types that don't drown in gooey emotions. I think I might want to see what it is like to be transformed into an INTJ just for a little while.

One thing that I can identify with, but ultimately disagree with (for myself) is the dislike of noisy environments.
I totally agree that noisy environments are distracting, and can literally drown out thought. That is exactly the attraction, in the same way that drugs and alcohol are attractive.
Sometimes, getting the hamster off of his wheel is worth any cost -even hearing and brain cells.

Continuation:
In some instances, the virtual mind game evoked/awakened so many varied but genuine emotions/feelings where joy, elation, happiness, companionship, love, sadness despair and even hope are felt.

I tend to have to explain myself because I come off as cold and hard when I start to take an interest. It’s a constant need to remind people that I’m harsh because I care. 🤣I’m working on fixing that.

As far as Ni, Te and Fi, I see them all working together. Ni provides inspiration, then Te figures out if it is worth the trouble... will it work. Fi keeps the entire process on the up-and-up (for me anyway). There are plenty of ideas that are inspired and revolutionary, and they are immanently do-able but... should they be implemented? Fi judges the morality of a project based on the INTJs well developed personal system of right and wrong. I think the INTJ is a wonderful blend of genius and practicality.

what do you do when your Extroverted thinking has to interact in a non-logical environment? Example would be you make a data graph at work that is accurate and logical but the boss throws it out for emotional reasons like he just doesnt like you. I keep having life experiences where I do the logical thing but I get punish by illogic of others in the world.. Its wearing out my self confidence. I cant tell if I have Te problem or something else. I am INTJ
