When Ford first announced the revival of the Bronco namesake, they also teased a supposed “Baby Bronco” joining the ranks, and that foal, of course, ended up being the Ford Bronco Sport. And now, for 2025 it’s due for a mid-cycle refresh, so our Alexander Kellum visits Ford's Off-Roadeo Experience Center outside of Knoxville, Tennessee to give you a First Look.

I had a 2022 Big Bend and I can attest to the 4WD system being outstanding. It got me through a foot of snow going up a steep hill with very little trouble. The limiting factor was the street-grade AS tires.

The 4 cylinder should be the only engine on the Bronco Sport. The 3 cylinder should be left to the Escape.

The 2.0L turbo should be standard, with the 2.3L turbo as the optional powerplant.

The Ford Bronco Sport Is What The Ford Bronco 2 Could Have Been If Ford Had The Ford Bronco 2 In Two Door & Four Door.

People just don’t get it. Lots of vehicles share platforms, that doesn’t make them the “same”. The Baby Bronco ain’t no Escape.

3 cylinder engine? For an off-road vehicle?

Even though the Escape and Bronco share the same platform, i do respect Ford for making them at least look distinctive inside and out. That being said, Toyota used one engine to carry their Rav4 platform with much success. Not a lot of torque, but a respectable balance of power, efficiency, and reliability. Of course now, the Escape version is on the way out.

Would love this with the same hybrid drivetrain as the Maverick

"Under the hood, things are pretty much the same."

Except it's a completely new set of MPC engines which just happen to share the displacement of the old ones.

Having taken one test drive, I cannot imagine that little tiny 1.3L 3 cyl. engine going up any reasonably steep hill. “Off road ready hardware” is cosmetic’s.

Are those auxiliary switches pre wired to the fuse block?

What if the Bronco Sport got the Raptor treatment?

It truly needs a V6 motor to the Bronco Sport or offer more horsepower than 250 and make it standard on all models.

sounds like we are going to need a towing package

Would they make a right-hand steering column for the Australasian Oceanic market ? ; furthermore with this will they install a towbar for hauling a small game fishing boat ? .

Too bad they still don't have the very desirable powered rear liftgate. Once you've had it it's hard to live without that handsfree convenience. There is really no excuse for not having it on the upper trim levels.

USA gets the Ford Bronco Sport Sasquatch for 2025 while Australia gets the Ford Everest Tremor (Ford Ranger based SUV) for 2025... Make me wonder why Ford USA use the Everest as a base for a new upscale SUV for Lincoln. Won't compete with the Bronco (another Ford Ranger based SUV) if it is upscaled.

I don't want mixed messages here. I'm liking the video because I like Motor week, NOT the bronco sport.

Will the 2.0 litre be available for the outer banks?

The green color is nice.
The grab handles are very cute.
Absolutely adorable little escape.
