This video takes you through how to glue collage materials into your paintings, and is the final in a 3-part series on collage. I encourage you to watch Part 1: Using Collage in Acrylic Painting, and Part 2: Creating Collage Materials before watching this one so that you’ll have good grounding in using collage.

Here's a link to a general supply list of materials Jacqui likes to use:

Materials:
Rice paper: there are many kinds of rice paper available at art stores and online
Deli paper: the kind I use is Dixie All Purpose Food Wrap. It’s available online for about $16 plus tax and shipping.
Golden (brand) Matte Medium: I prefer matte medium rather than gloss, but either will work to adhere paper or fabric to your substrate. Watch out: Golden Fluid Matte Medium is thinner (more fluid). I don’t use this (usually). I prefer Golden Matte Medium. Other brands are fine, too, and may be less expensive.
Rubber Tipped Tools: West Colour Shaper (I like the 1 ½” Firm Flat) or Princeton Catalyst (This has an angled tip. I like the 04 mini). You can use these to paint with, too.

As a mixed media artist for the past 15 years I love the fact that I can still learn new tips and techniques. Like you my prefered 'glue' is golden matte medium. I have tried other glues but nothing can improve on it. I will try using my shaping tool it makes sense as less glue will be wasted. Thank you for sharing, I love your enthusiasm. Carol Barnes GB

I am searching for the Dixie all purpose food wrap. I cannot find it in a reasonable quantity. Sams club has it listed but it, s unavailable. Frustrating, Can you share the website you use to purchase it for $16? Appreciate all the tips.

I like your work very much and enjoyed seeing how you proceed. I'm interested that you use acrylic medium rather than glue. I have used medium but, apart from the expense - which is considerable - I don't find it totally reliable as a glue - though I admit to not using it as generously as you do! I nearly always use PVA adhesive which I water down first. Do you have reasons for not using cheaper PVA glue yourself? I often enjoy sanding down a piece at a certain stage - it introduces more visual texture that couldn't be painted. Do you do this? I use very coarse glasspaper and really rub hard - the acrylic paint will survive a lot of punishing - and I'm quite happy if holes and tears appear. Best wishes.

Hi Jacqui, I understand that the Golden medium (expensive in Spain) is probably the best for professional work, but do you think I can practice with a liquid paper glue to start with?

I can only find Dixie All Purpose Food Wrap online for $116. Can rice paper be substituted? Or white tissue paper? OR, there is this item on Amazon, will it work: Sublimation White Butcher Paper Disposable Butcher Paper Sheets Square Meat Sheet Precut Butcher Paper No Wax Butcher Paper for Wrapping Meat, Heat Press, Art Project(100 Pieces, 12 x 12 Inches). Thanks for all these great videos!

Hi - I’ve been looking for deli paper to use like this, but it’s all waxed. Is that what you use? Thanks for the great videos!
