I think that the movie was made very well. The challenge of having everything set in a space and micro-gravity environment is very hard to accomplish. I don't understand why people are saying that it doesn't make sense that Matt Kowalski kept floating off beyond the space station even if she held him by the tether. The Law of Inertia states that an object in motion stays in motion. The force of holding the tether would seriously slow down any movement on the astronauts part, but seeing as Ryan Stone didn't have a firm grip on anything, she moved when she was thrusted in that position. It's not incorrect it's practically Newtonian. The idea of no sound except from solid vibrations was brilliant. And also, people are saying that there was no Gravity. Lets make one thing certain, there is no such thing as NO GRAVITY. There is micro-gravitational pulls at those altitudes, which allows things to orbit. And, if something is moving fast enough, it doesn't matter how small it is, it will orbit. What goes around comes around, every 90 minutes apparently. However, the Chinese Station is not that big. That is something that is inaccurate, right now it only is made up of like 3 or 4 parts. It is extremely difficult to capture what real gravity is like. You would need more cable wires than you would know what to do with, but all in all, the movie is very well made, and the presentational metaphors are placed in the movies very well.

Actually quite a bit of the suit is fiberglass that can withstand immense forces

Interesting. I attempted to find some info on the NASA site, but, alas, it was shut down.

Lotta UNREALISTIC things in GRAVITY. Especially the final act. Apollo 13 was a better movie. GRAVITY should have dropped the soundtrack if it wanted 2001 Space Odysset REALISM. They should give you that option on the Blu Ray.

Just a wild guess, but those debris fragments produced by the explosion should have shredded their EVA suits.

I liked it but right away I seen that the crying wasn't realistic but it was cool and then when she was bearly caught on the parachute they made that suspense to long... Other than that I can't wait to tell my friends
