SeaDoo 2008 RXT Jetski 12v Low Voltage Alert how to fix Best 5 minutes

Are you getting the jetski 12 volt low voltage alert? Take 5 minutes watch this video save hundreds of dollars and give me a thumbs up. 2008 RXT 215 model. When you test the resistance on the yellow wires on the rectifier make sure the engine is not running the resistance should be less than .8 ohms.. my reading was at .3 and .4. When you test for ac voltage from those yellow wires the engine has to be running to see approximately 20vAC and when you check where the red and black wire connect to the rectifier the engine needs to be running to see the 15 volts coming out of the rectifier. Make sure to plug in your hose to keep the engine cool while testing out of the water.

THANK YOU this was EXACTLY what I needed to do to fix this on mine, I bought a new battery when it probably didn't need it, well there was no marking on battery so I assumed it was that, then since I have a 215 and a 255 both 2008 I tried swaping voltage regulators around with no luck. I came across your video went thru the trouble shooting because I did not want to pull the pto cover apart for a stator. Sure enough new wire to the same location fixed it. 👍👍👍 (I do believe that this 255 has seen sea water at one point it has corrosion on all hardware which I can see why that wire got corroded while the 215 being the same year has only seen lakes and has no corrosion on anything inside)

You know what your talking about but it would be helpful to know which tests require the engine to be running and when it should be off. Thanks for help.

Thanks for this. It's basically the same procedure for 2006 and older however the fuseboxes and location are a bit different. Mine was the fuse

Thankfully, the screw holding the positive battery wire was loose. I tightened it and no more 12 v low or any other problems.

I have I have a 2006 seadoo gtx and there’s 2 30amp fuses but every side of each fuse and giving me 12.83 volts and even when I charge the battery and test just the voltage it reads the same thing

i agree with Kevin. around a minute into this you're talking about AC voltage from the rectifier. the motor has to be running for the AC current to be read. If I'm wrong, I need to watch a basic video about AC generation. Please respond. Thanks

When testing the yellow wires for ohms does the machine need to be running or no ?

I've got a SEADOO GTX 4-TEC I was getting 12v low I found a fuse was missing. My setup is different then yours is. But after I put the fuse in I got a check engine. I took it to a mechanic as I needed the codes cleared. Crud cost me 170.00 for that and he said 4 fuses were bad. They were good though when I checked them before taking it in to them. Anyway now I'm getting a 12v hi any idea why. I did replace the rectifier so that's new. Any help would be appreciated.

So if I test the yellow wires and get no reading whatsoever does that mean my stator is shot ? And does the machine have to be running for this test ?
