It doesn't surprise me that your channel is growing. You're putting out good content that people want to see. I subscribed recently and couldn't help but go back and "binge watch" your videos, some of them more than once! Good stuff!!

You are living the American dream my friend I'm working towards making a very similar setup for myself. I live in a 40ft container home now, just need to go off grid now, thanks for all the info

I've been putting solar panels on everything I own including the top of a van. Get yourself a cheap little solar controller that can keep just one extra car battery charged and running inverter off that and it's amazing how much difference it makes to be able to have electrical power in your vehicle without having to run the gas motor.

Just found your channel yesterday. Thanks for all the great information. I am a single mom with an amazing special child. I have been considering this option for a few months. Your channel is very encouraging for me and my family. We need an affordable option. It gives me more options to consider and what to start looking for. Thanks again.

12000 BTU mini split with AC and heat uses a lot less electric to run than an 8000 BTU window unit. They are very efficient.

Good Video, been looking at some land in Eastern Oklahoma and I'll definitely reference this video when it's time for power

I just did a LIFEPO4 battery conversion on my golf cart and it was actually cheaper than new lead acid batteries. I got a 48v 100 ah battery for just under 1k. Lead acid would have been 1.2-1.4k. Performance has been awesome.

Modern solar panels like that can also be used as basic roofing material. Something to consider if you're about to build a shed or you haven't yet built your tiny home. Go ahead and put your solar panels on like roofing panels. Get some gutters to go between them so the rain that goes between the panels flows off the roof. You can cut PVC pipe in half to do that. Or just put your panels on top of your roof saves the wear and tear on your roof especially if it's an old style tar shingle roof. That additional shade will also keep your house much cooler in the summertime if your house is exposed to the sunlight.

For my off grid place, I switched from Lead Acid to (4) 12V 300 amp hour Lithium Batteries about 18 months ago that I currently run as a 24v system. The prices for Lithium Batteries has recently dropped so dramatically that I’d not even consider other options. I’m now running 2000 watts of panels which is providing all the power I currently need. I probably should reconfigure to a 48v system as I’ll undoubtedly be adding more demands on my system.

I’m an Okie too, from Newalla and looking at putting together a solar DIY setup to at least power my workshop. You have a pretty good setup here. Good job.

In Europe, Estonia 375w 36V 11A panel costs 60€(65$), 6kw growatt 220v 48v inverter is 700€(750$) and 15kw lifepo4 battery is little less then 2000€(2200$). So my system is 22x 375W panels (8250W), 6kw inverter and 30kw lifepo4 battery and it all costed me 5500€(6000$). for a 1, 5years i've never used grid power, not even a onece.

I used golf cart (gc2) batteries for years on my system they are fine & dependable. You just have a little maintenance with them. Yeah cores, about 25$ each. I finally went with agm because I got a screaming deal. Cheers.

The nice thing about deep cycle lead acid batteries, you can exchange them before the warranty expires in 3 or what ever the warranty is free of charge, no questions asked. Try that with an expensive lithium battery. 😉
