We are going deep into the music of Orchestral Manoeuvers in the Dark this week with founding member, bassist, songwriter, and vocalist, Andy McCluskey. Amber and I have
already reacted to OMD’s hits “If You Leave” and “Enola Gay”, but we are excited to listen to other classic tracks from them that we’ve not yet heard. Andy joins us from his home in Liverpool UK, and we find out how the band came up with their name, and that Liverpool is home to a handful of bands with names as unique as OMD’s! Here now is our reaction to the first song Andy wrote with his bandmate, Paul Humphreys, when they were 16 years old, 1979’s “Electricity”.

The prom scene in Pretty in Pink, OMD's "If You Leave" playing, will never forget it... to this day chokes me up. Also love "Forever Live and Die", "Secret", "Enola Gay"... what an amazing group.

About time! Electricity is one of my favorite songs from OMD & 1979/80s. A typical early New Wave song. I really really adore the 1980s. Electricity is a good intro for early 80s New Wave music.
