My husband was an Electronic Technician and didn't fix appliances such as washers and dryers but the companies he worked for ALSO repaired appliances and honestly, my husband could fix anything. But that means that the two or three times in our 40 years of marriage, he tore our dryer apart to fix it. Let me tell you, when you take the cover off a dryer, there is lint EVERYWHERE inside that dryer. Talk about the vent being a fire hazard -- the dryer itself is also a fire hazard but nobody ever mentions that the cover should be removed at least once every 5 years or so and the whole inside around the drum and motor should be cleaned too.

Is incredible how much job to clean this vented dryer ! In Denmark and other EU Country most we use the Condenser dryer and the cleaning is so easy ! Each time we use it we clean the lint and empty the water ! No danger and soft and dry laundry ! 🤩. Thanks for the video !

I would add one should also open the back of the dryer and vacuum all the lint in there. It only takes a few screws and not that hard to remove. It's worth the effort.

Fortunately for me, the vent that leads from my laundry closet to the outside of the house is only about a foot long. The attachment tube is also pretty short. Easy cleaning! 😂

I live in New Zealand 🇳🇿 we use clotheslines outside and our dryers aren't the same but you still have to clean out the lint filter. This is interesting to watch none the less

Thank you for this video! I'm lucky that my vent is short enough for me to stick my arm through to the outside. Even though I didn't have any fancy cleaning tools, I was still able to use a vacuum and my hand to get a bunch of lint out. Now I can stop asking my husband for 6 months next time the dryer vent needs cleaning!

Shopvac from the outside worked for me. Probably the first person to clean this duct in 20 years and it took 20 minutes.
