The Royal Choral Society sings 'Shepherds! Shake off your Drowsy Sleep', an old Besançon carol from the eastern part of France. The carol appeared in the 'Recueil de Noëls anciens au patois de Besançon' published in 1842, and the melody is probably from the seventeenth century. This four-part arrangement is by Royal Choral Society Music Director Richard Cooke, who conducts this performance. Richard Pearce accompanies on the organ.

This was filmed in February 2022 in the Church of St Giles, Cripplegate, in the City of London.
