My FIRST impressions of SnowRunner Phase 7 'Snorizon'

SnowRunner Phase 7 is a mix of Forza Horizon racing, cargo delivery and multiplayer racing in Tennessee. Here are my first impressions of the current Public Test Server (PTS) version.

i would love to see a desert style map, the main missions could focus on restoring water ways and delivering consumables for residents, and it being a desert they could implement the racing with dune runners better. Snowrunner maps usually have 3 mission sets right so make the first 2 sets about improving the region than the last can be the racing

The racing and time trial element of Snowrunner is something I've skipped through the whole game.
I hope I can get through this ordeal without quitting the game all together.

If i want to play horizon, I'll do just that. Snowrunner is for deliveries, repairs and general slow struggles and frustrations. Not the phase for me this.

I was really looking forward to a offroad racing themed season, but my expectations were rather different from this. I was expecting scouting the track, repairing bridges, hauling giant Motorstorm-esque setpieces, delivering fuel and parts to a checkpoint to bottom-fornicate nowhere, and rescuing some racetrucks and buggies from places where just getting there is already a challenge. If I want to race a truck in a game that doesn't have the physics for it I play Dakar 18

The whole reason I liked Snowrunner was because it was solo and slow paced. They've not done this as some amazing creative idea, it's just significantly easier to create a basic bitch track and build a single 'mission' for it.

I have strongly mixed feelings about this update, but trying out sth new is never wrong. I just hope that season 8 will make everyone happy again and provide us with many missions and maps

I would love to see a map set in some Asian rainforest or the Himalaya or something. Like in the “most dangerous roads” documentaries on National Geographic.

I feel like they could add one extra map and change it to where you have to build or restore the racing area after whatever natural disaster is prominent in Tennessee tears through the area, so they keep the same sort of pattern they kept with the previous DLCs while keeping the new race tasks and other new ideas in the DLC

They should of course make it possible to do everything in single-player - that's a no-brainer in my book. (but I do have a small brain, almost no brain...)

I Agree! I really enjoyed this map, and I felt a bit shame because it is only one. Also you did a good point, mentioning that they worked to do the next-gen console upgrade

To me they need to do what they have been doing stick away from racing stuff I would like to see more locations around the world and building stuff with trucks

I'm gonna comment before even watching this I'm pretty sure they are slowly giving up on this game, caus the original team who created this idea has all but being replaced by people who don't care for it. This phase is not even trying to hide the fact that they are using it to test their new Dakar game high speed physic on trucks and it's potential popularity amongst the SnowRunner player base. The truck is straight out of their upcoming game...like seriously, the "Azov" race truck (Kamaz T14) we have is even shown on the main promo poster for the game. The fact they gave us zero American trucks in what's probably the last US region we will have and that there is only a single map for this LONG awaited phase gives me the impression they want to move on to their new little project and hope we will get so bored with the way the game is being treated that we will also give up on it.

This phase feels like it's been thrown together last minute. One can only hope they finish the year on a high with phase 8. It begs the question though; what have they been doing with all the extra time it took to release this?

My first impression as a year 2 pass owner is feeling a bit ripped off. Only 1 map? Feels more like phase 6.5
I guess we'll have to wait and see if they drip more content before phase 8.

I was thinking an Australian map would be could. As the top comment says, it would be dry and storyline could be that a drought has hit the land and you have to deliver water and supplies. The maps could focus a lot more on a rocky hill climbs, narrow bush tracks with maybe more fallen trees and rocks to make up for lack of mud. The landscape would look a lot different than anything we have right now.

Soooo many wasted opportunities but it does look like an easy region to got 100% completion in. Oh and in terms of favourite biscuit a chocolate hobnob takes it :)

this update is basically a test for some new physics for the Dakar game tbh

that said this was already done by modders so the point of this update just isn't there lol

Racing in Snow Runner, hmmm. Not really my cup of tea. But I will do the map and after I will go and deliver things on some of the modded maps.
