Full system exhausts are great when the first owner pays for it and I don't have to.

If you're taking the bike on the track, rather than carbon fibre parts, cheap-ass after-market plastic panels are much better - lighter than the originals, and cheap when you bin it. And you get to keep the original, nice, panels for when you sell it.

I have a cup holder on my bike. You may not take sunset cruises with a milkshake away from me.

I get full exhausts for the sound, the little bit of extra performance is just an incidental benefit.

Do not use regular dish soap on any clear coated vehicles. Dish soap is designed to break down grease. It will strip the clear coat off your paint. Use car or motorcycle wash. Preferably a car wash with some kind of wax mixed in. Car soap, water, a fresh rinse followed by paste wax is a great way to care for your bike.

To be fair, merino wool shirts do have advantages. If you’re wearing them multiple days in a row they usually won’t develop an odor like a nylon or poly shirt will.

The $70 price tag you showed was VERY inline with the average price of quality wool shirts.

I like your statement: "wait until you've experienced a situation in which a GPS could actually have made your life noticeably easier".

I first bought a dedicated GPS for my motorcycle back in 2008 because smartphones weren't really a thing that most people had and i was living in a foreign country that I didn't know. As I've gotten older I have continued to upgrade and mount an on-board GPS because it means my phone can stay safely in my pocket; dry, charged, and ready for other situations. If you're taking your bike on a long-distance tour it's a great thing to have onboard, but if you're taking the same route every day, then you don't need to bother. It's certainly not the first thing you should get.

Aftermarket Android Auto screens are useful. $200-ish gets you access to all of the things you need from your phone while saving your phone battery and offering front and rear dashcams. Plus, you get to deduct the cost of a phone mount from the price because you don't need it, and good phone mounts aren't cheap. And dashcam video is priceless if a cager crashes into you and tries to shift the blame.

Man, a cruiser on a hot day just chilling around town with a big gulp of diet dew actually sounds like a relaxing and enjoyable summer day.

Sooo I will be in the market for a cup holder and modular helmet. I will pretentiously sip my latte at a traffic light with a pinkie extended. Love from Houston.

A Garmin zumo XT is imho way better for a 3200km holiday drive compared to a phone. It can withstand the vibrations, dirt and rain. Doesn't need to be charged, can be viewed in bright sunlight and most of all CAN BE OPERATED WITH GLOVES.
If you don't do really long tours, a phone on your handlebar works fine but i prefer my XT on which i easily can share routes with my girlfriend and mates. We all have the same track or route, we don't need cellular networks, we don't have dead phone batteries.
If your bike supports Apple Carplay or Android Auto then it becomes a different story, but mine doesn't...

Detailing products are quite different depending on products purchased. That said the HD swirl and scratch remover is absolutely amazing and the price is competitive. Not even a Harley guy, i own a triumph

I use my running clothes for summer base layers. Any decent sporting goods store will have some on clearance. $5-25 bucks for name brand stuff from compression boxer briefs to shirts and tank tops. A good pair of lightweight merino wool running or hiking socks will also keep your feet nice and comfy. Not to mention, if you are a cardio junkie like me, it's all dual purpose.

Full system exhausts are great when your bike comes with a more simple "black painted" stock exhaust, because trust me, that thing is gonna become rusted looking prety quickily.

Want some cold weather gear that surprisingly work really well. Loom up the militaries cold weather gear at any surplus shop. Sure a little pricey, but the shit works.

People have upgraded products forever. Cars, bikes. I upgrade my guns and guitars. It’s a way to express yourself, and even if you can’t explore the full limits of a bike, it’s the satisfaction that it’s there. The flex of showing off when you meet up with other riders. I might even say those who don’t do upgrades probably don’t spend much time on their bikes to begin with, though there are also some who upgrade everything but barely ride.

The one thing I will say is I ride dirt bikes and wear full knee braces. Having motocross socks that are essentially regular socks from the shin down and a more athletic style fabric from there up to the mid thigh is a life saver. I’ve tried non motocross branded stuff and never found anything near the quality.

I agree with 99% of what you said. I do think a large 7 inch CarPlay screen makes reading and following the maps easier, it is much brighter then my phone screen which is hard to see in the sun plus the sun overheats the phone and it goes off.

I agree with all of this, I don't throw the money in the trash.
On the other hand, now the clothes I buy are all with laminated membranes. (except for pure summer)
Is it a lot of money? Yes, but I'm more satisfied with the fact that I'm indifferent to whether it rains or not.

I drilled five half inch holes into the end plate of my Honda’s muffler. It saved me five hundred dollars on a Cobra exhaust, and sounds exactly the same…
Love your videos, Yam! Have a VTX, still saving for an XSR900!
