So glad they were able to preserve the old Post Office building by repurposing it to expand the current Penn Station. The original Penn Station was an architectural gem like Grand Central Station, and it was a shame when the original Penn Station was torn down to make way for its dingy replacement.

Doesn't hold a candle to the greatness that was the original Pennsylvania Station. I've never forgiven NYC for tearing that building down...

Great job Amtrak! This is a wonderful fly-through. Thanks for all the improvements you have made to the Keystone Corridor over the past few years, the new stations are nice!

Now all we need to do is get the trains upgraded to the 21st century.

Where's the track area in the video? That's what MOST people need to see!

This makes up (partially) for the monumental act of vandalism that took place 55 years ago when they demolished Old Penn Station. I grew up around the area and actually worked at Penn Plaza for a few years. I always hated train travel in the US because of that joke of a train station they currently call Penn Station - still hate using it to this day. It was embarrassing to see what we had to offer to the world, which was somewhat mitigated by the beauty of Grand Central. Hopefully, we realise that our Grand Buildings are nothing less than the stitches of our societal fabric. We cannot be a great city without great spaces.

If the train hall is going to be ready on January 1, 2021 and we're less than a week away, can you please post a tour of the actual train hall before it opens instead of relying on renderings? I'm sure that youtubers in NYC would love to do it for you if you can't get the setup on time. And you would get more views! Try actionkid.

Madison Square Garden should have been moved to Hudson Yards. Then Penn Station could really be redone as it should be instead of adding on a nice but insufficient extension. Penn Station will be terrible as long as MSG is sitting on top of it.

It is a big, beautiful and expensive "train hall" with no trains. You can board the far west end of trains on 8th Av, but there are NO passenger platforms under the post office. There never were and never will be passenger platforms under the post office because there is no room for them, other than a small mail platform on the south side of the building. So, unlike most train stations in world, it's a pretty shopping mall across the street from an actual train station.

When are they going to renovate the rest of Penn Station? The bathrooms don't even have dividers!
