Not disappointed at all. It was interesting to see inside the connector.

Not a How to fix it.
3rd time on YouTube that I’ve wasted my time on in a row, but at least you showed your attempt from which I have learnt something.

Thanks for showing us what's inside an Apple lightning cable! Very much appreciated!

Wow, I hadn't even considered trying to repair a lightning cable. Very interesting to see what's inside the connector. I guess if you'd try to proceed with a repair you would have ended up with a quite fragile result. Thanks for taking the time to film this adventure! :-)

Thanks for trying! Never saw the inside of one of these. I suspected they are all throwaways.

Awesome vid! The scariest part was you cutting the mold 🤣.
When I was a bit younger, I was cutting a peice of cardboard for a project and accidentally cut the inside of my left pinky. Because it was a razor, I managed to 1/5 of my pinky. Strangely, it didn't hurt. It was just one clean cut. I remember multiple drops of blood dripping onto the kitchen floor as I grabbed a piece of tissue. I was fortunate enough that my tendon didn't get cut. Everything healed perfectly and I can't even see where the scar is anymore.

Thank you for this, thankfully I’ve saved multiple broken iPhone connectors and it just happened my dad got a soldering iron lying around, I have 3 in my disposal and each had different problems but atleast I got the idea of soldering. All 3 worked on my first time trying. I guess I won’t be buying a new one in a while lol.

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity about these. I've always wondered what's inside one. I absolutely hate how they're seemingly designed to be thrown away... what a waste of materials! All so we have to keep giving Apple our money...

You know this: They intentionally make them all this way, so they fail and it’s too much of a problem to bother mate!
Bloody twats... I bought a new iPhone, 1000 Quid! No charger, headphone or bloody cable to plug headphones in...

it's very small staff, and quality of the cable, and material used to made it depend on it's cost,
Thank You for exploring that Lightning cable.

I have absolutely zero luck with aftermarket lighting Chargers. Might work one day trash it the next.

Thanks for sharing! I have a iPad at work that uses a massive protection case and the charging / data cable has a bad wire. My Bose ordered a pack of five replacements and they have a bigger shielded ends then the old one.

I’m confused, I stripped my OEM lightning cable and instead of these 4 colored cords I have 7 tiny ones. I was trying to identify 5volts and ground so I could make a custom power supply for a breadboard.

If they would only make the strain relief a bit further and stiffer from the lightning connector end a lot of cables would be saved. No surprise on the soldering jobs on the internals. I bet the overmolding helps holds things together and masks poor connections for a while.

How to fix lightning cable, but you weren’t able to fix it? I appreciate your honesty & I learned a bit. I also understand why you couldn’t, but the video’s title is “how to fix…..”

If it's encased with injection molded plastic wouldn't a bit of heat help soften the plastic and get it to loosen adhesion?

No harm trying. At least you learn what is inside. If thus is too gone, next time you know more, and will be able to do it better, and succeed.

All the lightning cables I’ve seen have wiring made of steel and is not easily soldered. The steel wires are brittle and break easily when sufficiently flexed.

Hello May I ask how I can fix my iPad charger? My iPad charger accidentally fell on the ground and the head of the charger (the one that we plug in the IPad to charge it, I’m not sure what’s it called) and the wire got separated. Do I have to buy a new charger? Or do I have to find someone to repair it for me? Can it be repaired?

SO THEY PUT A DIODE BRIDGE IN CABLE !!! THAT IS WHY IT DOES NOT MATTER WHICH WAY YOU PLUG IT IN !!!!
