This Ford Super Duty Powerstroke Diesel truck review will cover many features that I love and hate on the new Ford Super Duty truck series. I have the pleasure of owning two of these trucks including a 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty Lariat FX4 Powerstroke Diesel Crew Cab as well as my F-350 Super Duty Limited FX4 Powerstroke Diesel Crew Cab. These trucks do share some common features, but the Limited also has some not found on the Lariat.

A short list of features that I'll review in today's video include halogen vs LED headlights, power while towing, panoramic moon roof, the annoying honking when the door closes, the way you can roll down your windows with the key fob, the hidden key fob compartment, how to unlock and start your truck with a dead keyfob, the 360 degree camera system, the BLIS (Blind Spot Radar) system with Cross Traffic Alert, the stock Michelin tires vs aftermarket BF T/A All Terrain, the LED bed lights, the stowable tailgate step, the power folding and power telescoping mirrors, the second row passenger space, adaptive cruise control and adaptive steering, all of the storage locations including the lockable safe, lockable rear seat storage, and more!

In this video, you'll see a 2017 Ford F250 Lariat Super Duty Powerstroke Diesel truck and a 2018 Ford F350 Limited Super Duty Powerstroke Diesel truck.

I have a f-250 Platinum diesel. I ordered it with all the bells and whistles and this truck is by far my absolute favorite of all the vehicles I've owned.

FYI, you're front facing camera also has a feature that allows you to wash it off from the cab. Turn the front facing camera on, hit your windshield washer fluid button and the washer will pop out and spray water across the camera lens. Pretty cool!

I totally agree with you on wondering why people cover their license plate. Great video!

6:15 I think the best thing that ford has and no one else does is the ability to leave your fob inside the truck with the truck idling (dog in it AC or the heat running) and press both bottom buttons on keypad and walk alway. Truck runs locked, and when you come back and want in, you simply enter your code and you’re in! It’s the best for dog owners like me! He goes on all my deliveries and to work every day and I love that my 19 Powerstroke (and all years really) gives us that feature!

1) You can disable the honk using the drivers settings in the gauge cluster, same area as other customizable options such as DRL and the like.

2)Split view camera is a front 180 degree camera, it's there to allow you to see better around corners that you would have a hard time seeing, like exiting a parking lot that has a wall or shrubs.

3) You can press the unlock button twice then hold it to roll down all the windows. Same in reverse, press lock then hold and it will roll it back up.

4) the Key Fob shaped hole is for multiple things, most notable to program a new key. It also has a second feature, if the truck has a hard time detecting the key, such as the battery is low, you can place it there to start the truck normally.

5) The BLIS sensors in the taillights are for an extension to the BLIS to enable trailer BLIS. To enable it you need to access the cluster and add a trailer, mainly by setting the width and length.

6) with the SYNC 3 system those USB plugs accessible from the drivers seat allows you to mobile mirror your phone through either Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Plugging your phone in wi allow you to access easier versions of most apps like messaging, music and GPS. It will also use the GPS from your phone withGoogle maps, applemaps, or my favorite WAZE.

There are tons of other features as well but I only have a 2019 ranger now but if you have anymore questions feel free to msg me.

The horn only beeps when the truck is running the the key is outside when you close the front doors only. Also with the door key pad you can open the tailgate when you hit the 5 after your 5 digit door code

I'm strictly a meat and potatoes gal here on my ranch in Texas. We have quite few F series trucks ourselves. My personal favorite is my new F250 2020 with the big 7. Gas engine. Its very powerful in any pulling situation. Though I use my F450 or F350 for long hauls. But my F250 is a basic work truck. 2 wheel drive. Big power to weight. Lots of room. Its a supercab model. Which for me is roomy enough. I saw no need for a 4x4 or 4 doors or any of those electronic gizmos. None if my trucks are complicated. They're all very powerful and honestly, I'd never ever own or drive anything else.

All I did was purchase a base model F250 Supercab with the big 7. I added my own ranch equipment. You know, headache rack, ranch guard bumper. Fifth wheel and skid plate for under brush. Thats it. I love my truck like no other. Every cowboy ask me about all that equipment. I tell them a lady can never ever have enough equipment! lol

The keyfob hole is for the possible situation the battery goes dead in the fob. When in the hole with a dead battery the truck will still start.

Yep. This is what makes these full size trucks worth every penny. They’re one of the biggest tools you’ll own. Treat ‘em right & they’ll serve you a long time. Just remember to replace BOTH fuel filters every 20K miles. It’s an easy job that most folks can knock out in about 30 mins. Just be careful disconnecting the return line for the fuel filter on top of the engine - the connector is very fragile. After you break it (when not if), replace it with a $20 after market aluminum connector (lots of discussion about this on Ford forums).

An additional camera view I love is when you put the truck in reverse, you’ll get another view option of a split rear view from the two side mirrors.

I bought some morimoto led headlight assemblies for my 19 lariat and haven't been happier. Had them for almost a year with no problems. Cost is around 1700, plug and play with 1 wire to fuse box. Way cooler than OE LEDs

Just so you know, the black button that is on the door handle is how you lock it from the outside or you can press the two last buttons on the door keypad (the number pad that you can lock/unlock the truck with). The truck won’t lock if you don’t have the key in your pocket and you try to use the black button but the two last buttons on the keypad will lock the key in the truck... Seminole wind is a great song.

The black plastic piece in the door handle is the lock, just like the unlock from your fingers on the inside of the door handle. pressing 7/8 9/0 at the same time also locks the vehicle and if the key fob is inside when you do that completely disables the vehicle until you enter your unlock code.

One good feature I found out. If your truck is running and you step out, yes the horn will honk if the door is closed. But you can still lock the doors with the remote or the key fob. If the doors are not lock and someone jumps in to move or still the truck, the gear shifter will not come out of park without the key fob inside the truck.

1. Exiting vehicle with fob in your pocket, touch the little black square on the outside of the door handle to lock.
2. You have a button on your overhead that will turn your dome light off/on upon entering/exiting. It’s sneaky cause you push it, the button illuminates, but it’s 3:00 in the afternoon and you can’t see what changed? You’ll notice it at night, personal preference??
3. If you shut down your truck and pull the turn signal arm back, it will turn off all your exterior lights, w/ an interior beep.
I have a 17 450 KR, love it, but I’m seriously thinking about trading up to a 20.
1. Auto folding mirrors
2. Driver modes
3. Deicing wipers
4. 10 speed
5. Trailer assist pro
6. 1050 ft lbs of torque ! ! !

I drove a Chevy 3500 for 15 years, wonderful truck. When it finally decided to go to the boneyard, . I shopped around and found a F250 gas version traded it in for a F250 6.7 Lariat and later on I went looking for bigger truck and again shopped Ford, Dodge, and Chevy/ GMC and we decided on the F350 DRW Lariat. I have not had any issues driving the Fords for the past ten years and towing an RV with them. I will say that my daily driver is the GMC Canyon with the BabyMax in it which I love for a daily driver because I average 26 to 29 MPG in it. The wife drives a Jeep which she loves and probably will not drive anything but a Jeep. So it really doesn’t matter on the brand, you have to drive what you like and like what you drive or there is no purpose on spending the money on it.

Great video!! I use Fords due to being able to lock everything in the truck and get back in with the keypad on the driver's door... 100's of uses with the keypad... a family member can get in the truck and leave you an item and lock it back, shopping-- others can come out early and not find you for a key.. same with being at the hotel.. or you walk out to check your mail and you can put the mail in your truck with out going inside to get the fob.... have the repair done and have the shop lock it up with your fob in it and you pick it up at 4am before they open... no need to come back when they're open...

Trucks now are a long way from my dad's 68 Chevy pickup with 3 on the tree when I was a kid...lol. They are total huge tanks now in comparison - soooo nice! Really like Ford's SUVs too...the dogs usually own the back though, and love the room...
Thanks Courtney
