DESCRIPTION:

Simultaneously floating and rooted, the opening of Sami Yusuf’s composition ‘River of Paradise’ seduces its audience with hypnotic melodies and rhythms of the kora and classical guitar. As the performance unfolds, voices of the instruments assembled on stage seamlessly add to the meditative mood. This is music that speaks with one voice through the prisms of many cultures, embracing and illuminating us. Ballaké Sissoko on kora and Antoine Morinière on classical guitar deliver evocative solos, and Nabyla Maan joins Sami Yusuf in a stunning vocal performance.

‘River of Paradise’ is a new composition by Sami Yusuf from the second of his ‘When Paths Meet’ series. It features The Sami Yusuf Ensemble, The Scoring Orchestra of Paris, The Métaboles, and stellar soloists and specialist musicians in a stunning collaboration. Performed at the Paris Philharmonic.

How many people agrees with me that Sami Yusuf is the greatest musician of our time?! I even comparing him with Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and other legendary European composers from 18th and 19th century all the time. I am deeply convinced that he is talented just like them (maybe even better), that his music deserves equal appreciation. I sincerely hope that it will become permanent part of world cultural heritage for the future generations through next centuries. That future generations will learn about him at schools, colleges and musical academies just like we are learning about Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Wagner, Haydn etc. If anyone deserves such a great honor of modern musicians, then that is Sami without any doubt ❤. No, I'm not kidding him at all - that is my honest opinion, I mean it 100% seriously!

Nabila is one of the most beautiful female voices in Morocco we have known her since she was a teenage girl who sings beautiful covers of traditional Moroccan Sufi songs on national TV channels, she grew up to be one of the best voices that we are proud of in Morocco.

It feels like I am sitting by a river bank of paradise with my wife and a majestic concert playing on for us, thousands of angels gathered and playing melody tunes forever that we haven't heard ever before, and we are staring at each other's eyes!! A state of full contentment!

Listening to Sami Yusuf’s “River of Paradise” evokes a sense of exhilaration and admiration within me. This song reflects Sami’s profound spirituality and artistic genius. Its melodies caress my soul, and its lyrics touch my heart, flowing like a river and carrying me to the shores of paradise. Sami’s voice offers a beauty beyond this world; each note and word speaks the universal language of humanity—love and hope. “River of Paradise” brings together people from diverse cultures and faiths, reminding us of the unifying power of music and its potent artistic influence. This is truly a magnificent art form!

Listening to Sami Yusuf’s songs is not just a musical experience for me, but also a spiritual journey. With each listen, I fall in love with the song’s beauty all over again, and it becomes an indescribable source of peace for me. ❤️
