Republicans Have An Impossibly DUMB Climate Plan

"As record heat and wildfire smoke engulf huge swaths of the country, President Joe Biden could free up disaster relief funds and slash carbon emissions by declaring a climate emergency — a move Democratic lawmakers have repeatedly called on him to make.

But last month, a group of Republicans introduced a bill to prevent Biden from making such a declaration, with one senator arguing it would wrongfully “grant him more executive authority and grow the size of government all in the name of climate change.”"

Another example of how far behind America, and in particular the Republican Party is on Climate Change. About forty years ago in Australia we were told that if we plant millions of trees, we could help to mitigate Climate Change. TOO LATE FOR THAT NOW, lack of Government initiative has failed to do anything much to help the situation, while Politicians get money from big business, nothing will change. Vote for progressive members of Congress/Parliament if you want to make a difference.

We can blame Citizens United for a lot of this crap! They literally made bribery legal, but only for themselves. If I got pulled over by a cop, and I offered him $50 or $100 to "forget it", I'd be hauled off to jail in the blink of an eye! But congressmen/women and senators are legally allowed to take huge bribes....

It's good to remind folks that Congress was thoroughly informed about the causes and risks of climate change waaay back in the mid 1980's.

Cant plant a million trees in Concrete...and even IF planted where ever except Most shade trees will take 20 - 40 Years to reach maturity..

The issue is also the forests are burning. We can keep planting and should but it's going to keep burning without other changes.

Tear up all the parking lots everywhere, and plant trees. Spend a trillion on mass transit, and plant trees. Nationalize the oil companies, and plant trees. And close all the golf courses, and plant trees.

We do need to plant more trees, but that is only part of the solution. A small part.

When they go through and plant trees. They shoot the young tree into the ground with a planting gun. And that's it. Very few of these seedlings make it. Most of the trees die.

Let them have this one. It's a first step for the Republican Party beginning to pivot toward the need to take climate change seriously. If they have to go green here then it gets a little harder to go against other green changes.

You couldnt FIT 1 trillion more trees in the US. And if you plant 300 trees a day, it would take you 3100 years.
