Because leviathan, seven seas foxy, glitched puppeteer, nightmare bb ect. are piercing units, meaning they fire a projectile in a straight line and hit everything the projectile hits, it's generally best to place it in such a way where theres a path in front of it that it can fire down and hit loads of enemies. Sorry for the wall of text btw.
