Graph depreciation using an exponential decay model
In this lesson you will learn how to graph depreciation using an exponential decay function.
ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
STANDARDS
CCSS.HSF-LE.A.1.c Recognize situations in which a quantity grows or decays by a constant percent rate per unit interval relative to another.
TEKS.A2.8.A analyze data to select the appropriate model from among linear, quadratic, and exponential models;
IN.AII.EL.3 Identify the percent rate of change in exponential functions written as equations, such as y = (1.02)^t, y = (0.97)^t, y = (1.01)12^t, y = (1.2)^t/10, and classify them as representing exponential growth or decay.
VA.F.AII.5 The student will investigate and apply the properties of arithmetic and geometric sequences and series to solve practical problems, including writing the first n terms, determining then nth term, and evaluating summation formulas. Notation will include ∑ and aₙ.
