Thank you Brandon. As always, you are a shining beacon of the Baroque and an inspiration for us all to be better. Truly, an -immortal- talent!

Well played. Great interpretation.
Francesco da Milano was great at translating the polyphonic style of the time to the viola de mano or lute, which is why his repertoire is so widely played by various lute players, including the vihuela and viola de mano and even the arch lute.

Well, that needed to be about 30 minutes longer. More! More! ❤ (Whoo, that sounded entitled! I'm always grateful for your generous sharing.)

Beautiful, as always! Your channel is superb, although I miss the guitar tutorials (that's how I found your channel), I love the new content!

That was very short and inspirational. The only thing left to do is continue to play it in my mind.

Gotta do a late Renaissance cover of Primus.
Call it "Jerry was a Ricercare driver"

I found his name given as Francesco Canova da Milano. I'm not surprised sometimes he is called "Milano"; after all, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina is commonly called "Palestrina, " which is the name of the town he was from before he moved to Rome at the behest of the new Pope. And Josquin des Prez's real name was Josquin Lebloitte "dis" (called) des Prez.
I'm going to look around for vocal pieces by Canova (although I'm sure that some pieces would be designated "to be played or sung").
I would love to hear you play more of this composers works!

Amazingly, there were guitarists able to play at this level hundreds of years ago.

This is such a timeless, classic piece that hearkens back to the forgotten days of yore, when the world was simpler. Here are the accompanying lyrics for those that have never heard this masterpiece:

I wonder if you know
How they live in Tokyo (hai!)
If you seen it, then you mean it
Then you know you have to go

Just think, Henry VIII would've been King of England when this was probably written.

"Ricer car" brings to mind Asian street racing gangs with heavily modified up Honda civics.

Here's an idea for a topic of discussion that you may be able to speak on and share your knowledge; what did performances look like in the periods you typically perform from?

Between informal performances and deeply regimented formal entertainment I'd imagine there's quite a bit of interest there. What they wore, how the performances were staged, etc.
