GLASSHOUSE CANDLE REVIEW #STAYHOME (Part 2) I TheTopNote

Today I start going through my scented candle collection, and in particular, I am starting with a review of Glasshouse candles. I also give an additional tip of how to remove wax from a jar, which I accidentally deleted from my Part 1 video in this series. Glasshouse is an Australian fragrance brand, they started with candles and diffusers back in 2006. Their candles were originally paraffin but they recently changed to soy. They also recently rebranded and launched a perfume line as well as other scented body products such as soap and moisturizer.

As you may have gathered by now, I LOVE scenting my home using candles. I think scented candles create a great atmosphere, and the scent is subtle and persistent.Glasshouse are my daily go-to candles for scenting my home, they smell great, don't cost the earth and they have a wide selection of fragrances.

Truth be told, I did not realise I had so many until I sat down to do this. I have them scattered all over the house so I never counted them. So, what I thought would be an 8-10 minute review became much longer. oops

Some of the candles I talk about today are discontinued or were limited editions. Sorry about that, in fact some of them I didn't even realise were discontinued until I looked at the website today.

If you are in Australia they are stocked in David Jones department stores and also Peter Alexander. I think some other small boutiques also stock a limited range but DJs and PA definitely have the greatest selection on a regular basis.

I'm new to Glasshouse candles and just bought Night Before Christmas and Under the Mistletoe. Hope I like them 🥴 but I've been hearing grumbles that the "new" soy formula isn't as good as the original so I'm wondering if I've maybe missed the boat so to speak regarding when they were better made? I'd love to hear your opinion on the new soy situation lol

I like gh candles but I notice every candle’s wax has residue on the jar when burning

Thanks for the review! Really helpful! I love glasshouse candles. When you mentioned cleaning the remaining wax from the jar, I`m wondering have you tried candle warmer lamp?

I have no candles at the moment and looking to pick up some more. I am quite partial to Glasshouse for the reasons you mentioned. I was put off by Melbourne because I thought it was a coffee scent, but I will definitely revisit it as well as Kyoto. I do like The Hamptons and Arabian Nights which are a couple of favourites. Bring on Part 3, 4, 5 etc💜

Triple scented means they have top, middle and base notes like perfumes.

My most favourites to least favourite:
Bordeaux (caramel)
Rendezvous (Amber & Orchid: smells warm with a slightly varnish accord)
Monet's Garden (Tuberose)
White Christmas ( Christmas cake smell)
Caracas ( frangipani)
Marseille Memoir (Gardenia)- this candle would not burn well but I liked the smell.
Peach Bellini
Tahiti ( fake coconut is headache inducing)
Amalfi coast ( too masculine and ozonic- best as bathroom candle)
