Good for Mr. Gerard, I would LOVE a flat 13% income tax, that is if we HAVE to have an income tax even though its unconstitutional. Take notes western world.

I agree, and thats why a tax on labor is unconstitutional in the USA. I wish more people knew this.

This goes to show that extreme tax rates won't be tolerated its better to have more reasonable tax rates and have people stay to pay it.

Look on the bright side Paris - there's now at least 3 seats available at every Michelin star restaurant.

It is ironic that gerard acted in the film Greencard back in the 90's where he bought his US citizenship through a marriage of convenience . I guess president Putin really enjoyed that film .

Updating - Depardieu story on 'Monkey Business.' If anyone's watching the series, it's S1E3. Marcel's cranky commentary starts around the 4:00 mark - it's his lead story in the episode ('Monkey Business' - S1E3).

So, it's S1E3, not S1E9. Although there's fun stuff in episode nine, too - in S1E9, Marcel chats about Facebook charging users $100 to send a message to the CEO, the U.S. Treasury's take on a trillion-dollar coin, and the historical Twinkie shortage crisis. It all really happened.

Gerard is not greedy, he just doesn't want to give away his more than half of the money to those who live on social welfare in France, which France has alot of them.

'Monkey Business' reported on this, too (S1E3), as the whole soap opera - Hollande's 75% tax rate proposal, Depardieu annoyed enough to move to Belgium - was just kind of entertaining.

We've added the episode under your video as a video response, since it's related coverage, although less in-depth - and far less serious.
