Virtual credit cards and virtual debit cards are one of the easiest and best ways to start masking your financial data as you make purchases both online and in person. But which services require KYC verification? Which virtual card companies are US-only? What about spending controls?

Does KYC matter to you? Do you prefer virtual credit or virtual debit cards? I'm curious to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Well it looks like for us who are not US residents, there are not many options. It is basically either Revolut or our local banks if they issue virtual cards (they do in my country). For fellow EU residents, N26 (a German online bank) is also one other option. I also want to add that Google Pay (or Google Wallet) does the exact same thing as Apple Pay and you could have mentioned it too in that segment of the video.

Thank you, Josh! Great content, as always! Do Klutch make a hard pull on you when you apply?

So which service would be best for virtual cards that link to my primary real credit card? Not debit or bank checking account?

I cringed when you said you could restrict your wife's use of a credit card.

I was introduced to privacy virtual cards thanks to your videos.
The biggest issue I came across was just recently, and it has to do with returning online orders in-store.
Some stores only do in-store returns and require the physical card present in order to process the refund, so if you made a purchase with a virtual card, you're probably stuck.

I'm a very nervous kind of guy when it comes to this stuff to be really honest. I watched this video months ago and I'm back because I feel like I need something like this mainly because of online subscriptions. I'm going to watch to the end because I'm old and my memory isn't the best. LOL My main concern is giving another company my banking information which is I assume this works. If you have any words to put my mind at easy, I am all ears. Thanks for all you do, I genuinely appreciate it.

This video has been very helpful as I am considering a updated budgeting strategy that includes adding the security step of a virtual card. In my research, I must correct you when, @2:10, you state "...you can not use Privacy on a mobile wallet..." perhaps Apple Pay or/and Samsung pay, but there are more than these two mobile pay alternatives. Privacy supports Garmin Pay (or Garmin Pay supports Privacy).

You keep saying "virtual credit card" in these videos, but only Klutch is a virtual credit card. The rest are virtual debit cards. Don't use debit cards. Debit cards don't have the same legal protections as credit cards. A debit card tied to your bank account can quickly empty your bank account. A pre-paid debit card is better, but you can still lose everything you put on the card.

Klutch charges $6 per card. $6 x unlimited = a lot of money.

just opened this week a revolut account and the don't need a connect to your credit card or bank account ... it is a prepaid card. It's only what you put on it.

It's not as they make it seems. It's basically a credit account with multiple virtual cards. When a company advertise this, and you find out it's not that, it is as close to being a scam as it can be.

When you cancelled that card that was stolen and got a new one, did it affect your credit store given that one component of the score is the length of credit history?

Apple pay? PayPal? I find it hard to believe that either of these are acceptable from a privacy purposes. PayPal reserves the right to fine your account if you use them to buy something they disapprove of (hAtE!!).
The virtual card thing does intrigue me, but under no circumstance will I ever use Apple pay, PayPal, or google pay for that matter.

Is there a legit way to give scammers a bogus credit card number so they get caught for fraud?

DO NOT link your bank account to any service where if hacked money can be drained from your bank. I learned this the hard way when i was attacked via sim swapping. Once they had control of the hacked service, they started pulling money out of my bank.
