It’s daycare… not school….and he’s 2. Why does he have to “be still”. Parents don’t pay $1000 /month for them to “be still”

The staff needs to be fired and never allowed to work with kids! You can't even restrain in the hospital without a doctor or nurses permission! These parents pay thousands of dollars for these kids go to day care just for the kids to be treated like this!

People are nuts! Kids get restless! He's only 2!

It's completely unacceptable to restrain a child in such a manner and especially over the excitability of a party! Limits or boundaries should only be set if a child is harming themselves, others, or material in the program. I see this constantly: people taking child development classes, but have no real training in adult/child interaction guidelines. They are mandated reporters and this should have been immediately stopped and social services contacted regardless of who did this. This is a huge violation no matter the school policy on discipline.

A child should NEVER be treated that way! In no circumstances whatsoever!

If only you knew how many parents handle their toddlers like this behind closed doors

He was a little boy excited about a party. They said he wouldn't sit still. They didn't say he was running around being destructive. I empathize with schools in a lot of these situations because many children are horrible these days but he's only two. That's a baby. I'm glad they got him out of that situation.

If it was their child & they saw it on video, they would feel some ways too! Whomever supported the workers(they're good girls/workers) would they still be supportive if it was their child?

If any daycare can only handle well behaved children, they need to use these videos to refuse services before it gets to this.

This is disgusting! If he wasn’t being still then they could have found a better way to help him be still. He is 2!!!! Tying a child down is crazy!

Yes there should be more training. I think everyone involved would benefit.

The teachers should probably film disruptive children first. Then bring the parents in for a consultation. And discuss future steps disciplinary actions. It’s unfortunate for both parties. The little guy feeling were hurt. I pray all goes well for everyone.

They have velcro chair straps or a high chair for situations where a child is overactive ....training yes termination no, because the daycare director is at fault too for not addressing safety issues relating to staff and children.

That is child abuse. They have no right to do that period.

I worked at a daycare named Kiddie Haven in West Palm Beach..Florida in the late 1980s...at lunchtime..they wrapped Velcro ropes around the kids..one year old Toddlers to prevent them from getting up..I quit the next day...

A lot of parents have a very difficult time disciplining their children at home, even for short periods. When their children are together with other children from different homes, there's fighting, bullying, etc. The daycare staff now has the responsibility to discipline unruly children, and they are not paid to do so.
I would like to see policies being made to protect daycare staffs and administors.
If a child seems to be difficult after one week, I think daycares should no longer extend its services to the parents.

Thank God I don’t have children. I know some people have to have others take care of their kids while their working but people are too psychotic these days to be around children.
