Don't have any money to spend on your loved ones this Valentine's Day? No problem! Give them something that will warm their heart and put a smile on their face.

Write them a love poem!

This poetry exercise works for any loved one, not just a boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse. Write a poem to your best friend, to let them know how much your friendship means, or make a poem for your sister, to remind her how much you appreciate her.

Whatever you do, remember that Valentine's Day isn't about having a "date". It's about loving yourself and those around you, opening up your heart, and being around people who love you for who you are!

this is the first poem i’ve ever written don’t bully me and i kinda moved the lines around a bit:

darling,
when i first met you i knew you were great.
you drew me in immediately, with every personality trait.
you get me flustered and not in the way i hate.
i enjoy talking to you til it’s late.
i would love to hold your hand and consider it a date.
you are perfect in every way, even better than great.

When you first kissed me, I'd never felt more alive
You were perfection at the start, and perfection never dies. 
Everyone else fades, but you get better with time.
And your kisses leave me high, like a stoner in the night 
I want to watch a movie with you, because your my leading man
The smell of coffee in the morning, is made with your hands
and salt on my lips, is salt on your skin
And I dont think i'll ever be warmer again.
I want to hold your hand, because it fill all the cracks
And if I didnt have you, who would rub my back? 
And if I didnt have you, how would I be special?
And your laugh is the brightest thing in my life, even the sun is dull.
Every single breath that passes through your lips is my blessing
every single day that passes through my life, is only important if it is spent 
with you.
