I like to dress in what society deems “unfeminine” clothes. If I had dollar for when some assumed I was trans, trying to be a boy or a lesbian. I don’t get offended much cause 100% an ally but why do we associate pants and t shirts with men or lgbt? Since when did LITERAL fabric change the fact that I am a straight woman? Oh and don’t get me started on when do feel like wearing dresses I get those backhanded compliments like “wow you actually look like a girl?” Or “now you look sexy.” Thanks for bring attention to this topic. why cant people just be themselves? back in the day tomboys were a thing and they were considered cool now everybody wants to be hyperfeminine pink princess and its so forced. people can be what they want, housewife, wearing dresses, being a career woman, being into sports etc. social media is now trying to convince us there's only one way to be a woman, or a human

I mean sure, lets divide it into feminine and masculine clothing. But then both men and women (and enbies) should be able to wear both feminine and masculine clothing

Even as a non binary person, the feminine standards are so frustrating. I shave my legs, like the color pink, and wear “girls” jean shorts sometimes. This immediately gets me labeled as a woman, but then when people see the more masculine t-shirt I have on they judge me for not being feminine enough. I’m so glad you brought this up!

This is the problem with gender confusion. People use stereotypes to describe femininity and masculinity. Femininity is using your natural gifts and talents. And masculinity is the same. Most guys are wired a certain way. Most women are wired a certain way. These two ways complement each other.

Will there be overlap? Of course! But women problem solve differently than men. Men have more drive to protect. Women have more drive to connect.
Both are valid. Both should be leaned into.

If you feel like you don't fit this generalized view of protect/connect, that's okay! God made us with different abilities and drives. We should be whoever God made us to be.

(This is coming from a "tomboy" here who doesn't fit society's feminine ideology. But I'm still interested in people more than things. Still straight. But I don't have the normal calling of being a mother. And that's okay! If you do, great! If not, God may have other ways He's gifted you.)
