Watch live coverage as SpaceX launches a Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Thuraya 4-NGS (Next Generation System) satellite for Space42's telecommunications service. Liftoff from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station is scheduled during a four-hour window that opens at 8:27 p.m. EDT, Friday, Jan. 3 (0127 UTC, Saturday, Jan. 4). The first-stage booster, making its 20th flight, will target a landing on the SpaceX droneship, 'A Shortfall of Gravitas,' a little more than eight and a half minutes after leaving the launch pad.

Commentary will be provided by Spaceflight Now's Will Robinson-Smith, starting approximately an hour prior to liftoff.

I saw this one from the air! Was flying a group of people into Jacksonville and we all saw it together. Great view from the cockpit!

It was surreal to see it disappear out of the night sky then the booster reignite.

I watch every time to see the booster landing. Can SpaceX provide a view from a drone or another ship….I think this would be very cool to see.

After Polaris Dawn, this is another 1000+ Km mission! Would like to see more like this soon! Also, what a pity that it was done by night, because it would have been indeed so interesting to witness our planet shrink in the sky!
