Reenactment of Paul Revere's ride begins in Boston's North End

Paul Revere's famous ride helped kick off the American Revolution. WBZ-TV's Juli McDonald reports.

Revere rode 20 miles, and went down in history due to a poem written by a Longfellow, who was not even born when the events occurred. He was a poet, not a historian, but his poem has been accepted as fact, while ignoring other more significant achievements.
Israel Bissell rode from Massachusetts through 5 colonies, (states), with a letter of introduction from a colonial commander asking for help from other colonies in fighting the British. Bissell rode over 300 miles from Massachusetts to Philadelphia to get supplies and soldiers.

Paul Revere’s ride pales in comparison, but he had better publicity.
