Putting those lyrics into context: The Author of the tune, Frank Loesser wrote it & performed it with his wife (Lynn Garland) and played it together at dinner parties. This was "their song". Lynn Garland wasn't too happy when sold the rights to MGM, but I'm pretty sure the Academy Award he won for the song later the next year made up for it...

I enjoyed Dean Martin from Television Programs when I was a boy. I loved this song sung by him. He was always of the mind there would only be one take of any song he sang. He was so right. He had such a great voice and TV personality and his acting was great too. Thanks for this song it's time for that season again. I love it. Christmas right around the corner.
