The absolute number 1 country to relocate to is the Philippines. Especially if your a retired man on small income. Approximately $1 per day immigration fee. Stay up to 3 yrs. On tourist visa. Then simply leave for a day or so, return and your good for another 3 yrs. I'm 75. I have lived in the Philippines since 2017. Feel free to ask me questions.

One of the major underscored concerns is safety and security. Many of these places have a considerable amount of petty crime, which many retirees are concerned about. While these 5 countries have easier paths to permanent residency, there are overall better options in Southeast Asia (i.e. Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Philippines). Many of these countries have reasonably affordable visa programs, while still offering a considerable lower cost of living than in most western countries.

None of this is true. I have friends that live in all of these places and are paying rent of at the very least $1200 per month or have bought a decent house around $250k. This is another one of these "click bait" websites. Don't waste your time.

What a crock of BS. I've lived in Belize and Honduras. Belize is not cheap any more, especially on the islands. Americans have driven the prices up so high that many Belizeans can't afford to own their own homes anymore. And it's not Roa ton. And why are you mentioning prices in Croation money? Honduras uses the Lempira.

In all these countries crime is high and lawlessness prevails. You may save money but you may not feel safe.

You think people want to live in Nicaragua which has been under Ortega rule for decades?

Why do the folks from these nations all want to come to the USA to live?

“Belize, a retirement paradise”. LOL. “A welcoming community” . Another LOL. Yes, if you bring your security detail with you and build a nice, big wall around your property. Just try it, that’s all I have to say.

Out of those 5 countries, the only one I would consider is Peru, you couldn't pay me to go to Brazil or Nicaragua!

You should also consider state department travel advisories. For example Belize City – Level 3: Reconsider Travel.

They don’t mention that Honduras, has the highest crime in Central America. Number 1 in crime with all the gangs they have.

They are all beautiful countries however, out of the 5, I'll take Peru, 2nd choice would be Belize.

Brazil does permit immediate residency. In fact, just to fly there you have to get a visa from their U.S. consulate before even boarding a flight.

What about crime statistics? It is important to reckon with issues of public safety in this posts. 😎

Brazil is great, specially is you go to smaller towns, beach towns, once you find your place and immerse in the culture you will love the country.I do understand Some areas aren't as safe as the US but most of the country is pretty safe.
