Judith Durham and the Boys have released 3 versions of this song over the years, including one with children singing along and a performance from their reunion. With this video I've blended them together - I hope you enjoy the result. The melody is based on 'Ode To Joy' from Beethoven's 9th symphony, the lyrics were written by The Seekers' Keith Potger.

Another one of their songs that makes my eyes watery but they are happy tears. It doesn't get any better than this.
Judith shared her voice for nearly 60 years with us down here so she was needed to share it in Heaven and is doing so now.

After listening to almost everything from the Seekers and Judith for two years I eventually came across her recordings of jazz at 19 yo with Frank Traynor´s Band in Melbourne. If one may qualify her voice as a gift from the heavens when listening to some of the Seekers recordings, the jazz recordings can only be rated as genius work. The complexity of some of the songs is staggering and the teenage girl tackled them as if she had spent a whole life in jazz.

The Emerald city is Dublin. The most ever green city I have seen in the world. Irish women are so beautiful, and their men are quite good looking, too. Meaning the natural beauty of the country is reflecting on the image of their people.

Once again rich963, I wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this! Just since Christmas of 2021 have I truly embraced The Seekers and made them my All-Time #1 Band!!! 💖💖🎶🎶 I listen to them FIRST on Spotify everyday, and initially "liked" 29 songs. I decided this week to branch out and listen to more, and have now added this to my favorites! Thanks for telling me this melody is 'Ode to Joy' as I have heard that since I was a baby in the 50's; but am not adept at naming classical music. Keith is an AMAZING songwriter/lyricist, and listening to Judith's crystal clear voice is a spiritual experience for me!!! 🙏🙏 It is SO refreshing to listen to Christian people sing who make such beautiful and inspiring music!
