What is “Biblical happiness”? | #shorts

In Acts 5:17-42, we read that the apostles were beaten and threatened, a situation in which they found themselves many times during their lifetime. But what really amazes me is to see in verse 40 that "they went out from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name." How can this be? I think it is because they experienced a different kind of "happiness" than what we are used to hearing today.

A timely biblical message for truth seeking Christians.

I’ve had discussions with a man about my age at work who is in my department. He’s a very angry, deeply depressed man who doesn’t want anything to do with God. He’s questioned me about my faith but says He doesn’t want anything to do with it. He’s not truly seeking, but he does want to be happy and doesn’t know how and I was trying to explain that happiness is an emotion that can be taken from us in a second. What he needs is contentment. Something that can only come from aligning ourselves with God.

Such good stuff here. :)

The joy of the Lord is my strength. My Joy is in pleasing my heavenly Father. I do this when worship for his Son has come alive in me, when love for him has come to life in me. I know it’s true when I just can’t stop“lifting up” the Son with my mouth and my actions. I know it’s true when the most joy I get is when I get to share him with others.

Great stuff! Live a life that pleases God. Joy follows. Deeper than mere happiness. Constantly thank God for his gift of salvation! 😀

I can't agree more - our modern society seems to assume happiness as the aim of life, while the Scriptures point towards righteousness, faithfulness, and holiness. The two certainly diverge to a variety of outcomes. Thank you for posting this.

I'm here to have a good time. I read the bible but didn't find much happiness in its ancient pages. I discovered mostly shame, fear and suffering inflicted by a god who never laughs.

Sometimes getting a divorce is for your happiness because it is for your own safety, well-being and relationship with GOD.

I only agreed to divorce because my ex cheated on me with other women and left town... I'm remarried now and it's so much better with my husband who is loyal and treats me as Christ loves the church. I totally agree we should not change our circumstances just based on emotions or feelings amen.

“the bible defines happiness not as any definition a human being would recognize, but as absolute unquestioning obedience to what I reckon the creator of the universe wants based on my own selective reading of the text”

saved you a minute, enjoy the rest of your day.

Biblical happiness is when a person is happy and satisfied to live within a man made book where the claim that it was inspired by a deity was also man made.

Religion is always dealing with you and what you're doing and what you're not doing,
anytime you're sitting around thinking what should I be doing you're under religion,
the grace of God is dealing what Christ did.
Under religion man always says look what I'm doing for you God and under grace Christ says look what I did for you man.
Under religion man says look how I went to church and under the grace of God Jesus said look how I went to Calvary.
Under religion man says look at how I was raised in my denomination and under grace Christ says look how I was raised from the dead.
Under religion man says look at how I gave my money and under grace Jesus says look at how I gave my life.
Under religion man says look God at how I confessed my sins and under grace Jesus says look man how I took away your sins.
Under religion man says look God at how I stood up against sin and under the grace of God Jesus says look man at how I died for your sins.
Under religion man says look God at how I judged the lost world and under grace Jesus says look man at how I saved the lost world.
Under religion man says look God at how I got up and marched against these evildoers and under grace Jesus says look man how I suffered and died for evildoers.
Under religion man says look God at how I bow down to you and under grace Jesus says look man and how I became one of you.
Under religion man says look God at how I healed the sick and under grace Jesus says look man how I raised the dead.
Under religion man says look God at how I spoke in tongues and under grace Jesus says look man at how I spoke in life.
Under religion man says look God at how successful my life was and under grace Jesus says looked me at how successful my death was.
Religions my friends is always man trying to reach up to God with self effort to be accepted by God.
Through classic Christianity was God reaching down to man through Jesus with love and acceptance and that's why Paul said we preach Christ and Christ crucified a stumbling block to the Jews foolishness to the Gentiles but to those whom God has called both Jews and Gentile Christ the power of God and wisdom.

Like many "Christians" today, Satan believes Jesus died on the cross, but not for HIS sins. He believes Jesus has risen, but not for HIS eternal life.

Satan believes the event of the cross but never put his trust in Christ's finished work for salvation.

Salvation is not: Believing there is a God. (Satan believes that)

Salvation is not: Believing Christ was the Messiah. (Satan believes that)

Salvation is not even... Believing Christ died, was buried and rose the third day. (Satan believes that also)

Salvation is: Believing Christ died for YOUR EVERY SIN and trusting that He rose to give you eternal life IN HIM!

Something Satan and most Christians want no part of because of their PRIDE!

If denominationalists truly believed Christ forgave their sins, they wouldn't spend so much time trying to GET them forgiven.

One tells you to pray for forgiveness.

One tells you to confess for forgiveness.

One tells you to believe for forgiveness.

One tells you to repent for forgiveness.

One tells you to be baptized for forgiveness.

And keep in mind, all of these folk with a straight face will tell you Christ DIED for your sins. Welcome to Nutsville!!! I think Dorothy got lost on the yellow brick road.

Today I unapologetically proclaim that there is only one way to be saved, and it has nothing to do with getting your sins forgiven. Salvations through FAITH. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Salvation comes to those who are ready to give up on THEIR performance and rest their faith in JESUS' performance.

The path to salvation is narrow. SO narrow that nothing you do will fit.

Satan will never be saved for the same reason he was kicked out of heaven. P-R-I-D-E. (Isaiah 14:12-14)

Read carefully and count how many times he says "I".

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Satan is obviously a Narcissist!

Like a vain person in front of the mirror, five times in only three verses he boasts of himself. Pride keeps Satan from being saved as it does most of the world. They have fallen victim to SELFIANITY and are incapable of letting go and letting God. Incapable of taking their filthy hands off their salvation and allowing God to save them by HIS finished work!

If you say --- "I said a prayer for forgiveness." "I confessed for forgiveness." "I believed for forgiveness." "I repented for forgiveness." "I was baptized for forgiveness."

Then sadly you have fallen for the five I's just like Satan.

Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven, it's believing they already ARE!

To be saved, you must first get "I" out of the way.

You only get two educations, the one you're given and the one you give yourself!

Where is God? In you scripture says. So to be happy is to find peace within your self and to understand that you and everything is one! God is one, in all and through all, that gives everything it’s being. The knowledge of that is happiness. Peace beyond your carnal understanding

The messiah's name was always going to be Jesus according to Zechariah Chapter 6... which is the same name as the post exile high priest, Yeshua!
if the concept of Messiah and God are separate then it doesn't automatically follow that sins can be forgiven.. only God can forgive sins. furthermore if the expectation of Messiah is to reverse the events of Genesis 3 Genesis 6 and Genesis 11 then by Definition messiah has to be more than just a man.
Jesus being born of Mary but not of Joseph is not a problem according to Jewish history because I believe during the reign of Queen Alexandra Jewish law made Heritage pass on, by matrilineal Bases.
A basis for the Trinity can be established in the Old Testament by passages like Amos 4:11Isaiah 48:16.. and Judges chapter 2:1 and Daniel 7:9-14
Support for the idea of God becoming man in Scripture are Deuteronomy 18 verses 15 to 18 Focus of the verse speaks of the coming Messiah coming from lineage of Israel like unto moses.
We also have Exodus chapter 23 verse 20 and 21 the context of which is speaking about the future Endeavor of going over Jordan then we come to Joshua chapter 5 verses 13 to 15 and the context of this passage is having just gone over the Jordan into Israel.
Another proof of this idea perhaps most glaringly Jeremiah chapter 1 verses 4-10... the first thing you want to pay attention to is titles in verse 4 and verse 9... Hashem and the word of the Lord these titles are used interchangeably there's some definite implication there but the point of emphasis here is verse 9 because it goes a little further than just anthropomorphic language.
Now the next concern is did Jesus ever claim to be God? And for this the scriptures I would provide are Matthew 26:64 Jesus directly quotes Daniel 7:13
John 10:34 Jesus claims to be the judge in Psalm 82 referencing verse 6
In John 10 versus Both 11 and 14 Jesus Yeshua says that he is the Good Shepherd and you can cross-reference this with the very first line of Psalm 23.
In Mark chapter 6 starting from verse 45 Jesus walks on the water this is something designated in the Old Testament for something only God (job 9:8) can do this separates Jesus from the other people who did miracles.
Where another claim would be is in the fact that Jesus forgives sins, off the top of my head is Mark chapter 2
now certainly there have always been Messianic claimants but none of them have ever claimed to forgive sins.
Now the question becomes why would Jesus be so secretive? why didn't he just come out and say that he was the Lord God of Israel?... well one scripture off the top of my head of that I would provide here that might be interesting is this Matthew 16:20 "then he commanded his disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ"... my suggestion to you here, would be that the crucifixion had to take place at a certain place at a certain time and under a specific set of circumstances.

Please Look into all the scriptures I made mention here I hope this helps even one person
Hashem bless everyone of you... in the name of Jesus both son and God of David king of Israel, amen.
