Distributed locking via Zookeeper

Zookeeper is an abstraction of a set of data nodes (znodes) which are organized in a hierarchical namespace. Clients manipulate these nodes via the Zookeeper API. Nodes can be persistent Or ephemeral. Zookeeper itself does not implement low-level coordination semantics but facilitates two most important attributes which can be utilized to implement the distributed coordination semantics.
