The Ecotec Eco-SBR process treats sewage wastewater from different types of buildings.

Treatment commences when pre-screened sewage water enters the collection tank also called the equalisation tank.

Heavy solid particles settle to the bottom portion of the collection tank. From the collection tank, load equalized sewage is pumped into the SBR reactor for secondary treatment.

In the SBR reactor, fine bubble aeration creates a conducive environment for microbes commonly referred to as activated sludge to develop and digest the waste in the water.

At the end of the aeration phase, in a short impulse, the discharge airlift pump is cleaned from any sludge particle accumulation.

During the following sedimentation phase, activated sludge settles to the bottom of the SBR reactor while a clear water zone appears on the top. This clear water is now ready for discharge.

EcoTec airlift pump discharges clear water into the treated water tank without disturbing the settled sludge in the reactor. The clear water is available for reuse and disposal.

Excess sludge in the SBR reactor is removed from the bottom of the tank for subsequent storage and digestion.

The Eco-SBR plant is now ready for the next treatment cycle.
