"Jólagestir Björgvins 2014": Jóhanna Guðrún (or for her fans all over the world: YOHANNA!) sings "Hvar eru jolin?", a marvelous Icelandic version of "Where are you Christmas?".
Her performance is just heavenly, unbeatable, brilliant, breathtaking, beautiful ... - O.K., to make it short: This performance is once again a striking proof for the correctness of my often used, favorite phrase:

A few words to explain my motives to make videos with subtitles:
First and foremost: The lyrics are in Icelandic (wow, what a discovery ...) :o) The Icelandic language sounds marvelous - I love to listen Jóhanna's Icelandic songs - but sadly I understand hardly a word of "Hvar eru jólin?". In my opinion it's very important to understand the meaning of the lyrics to enjoy a song as a whole work of art. Otherwise a big part of the song drops away for the listener. That's indeed very sad. I guess most of her fans from outside Iceland will agree. So I decided to solve this problem for Jóhanna Guðrún's international fanbase (me included) - this video is the result of my efforts ...
A little remark about the quality of the subtitles: The translation was very tricky, because I actually don't speak any Icelandic. But my patience is simply endless so this is not a big problem. It takes a lot of time, but it works ... :o)
My abilities in English are - to say the least - "not the best". And I'm not a poet, maybe in German but for sure not in English. But I guess it's halfway correct, readable and at least understandable. So it will be possible to understand the meaning of the beautiful words that Jóhanna sings in "Hvar eru jolin?" - and that is the one and only goal of this work ...
