You forgot the Prius Prime - it has a hybrid range of 640 miles.

It was great for someone who wants to gain some basic knowledge on hybrid and electric ones; the pros and cons were helpful to make a correct decision.

I don't plan on doing a lot of long trips and mainly stay in the city. I feel like I'll go with the electric car for the moment. Then when I feel like traveling the country, I'll get a hybrid or gas vehicle.

I am getting 71 miles to the gallon with my Toyota Prius Hybrid. With a 11.3 gallon tank that would be over 700 miles to 1 tank of gas. No stoping to charge for me.

For now I'm happy with my 2010 Toyota Hybrid Prius, I will buy an EV in the future not now.

You completely missed a few major items. 1) 5 additional hours for your trip to Seattle if things go perfectly. But charge stations can be down, or other cars may be charging so you may have to wait for them to finish before you can charge your car. 2) You compared an EV with a Hybrid but completely missed a PHEV.

Our Honda Clarity PHEV has only a 17kw battery which provides 47 miles of EV range. The small battery also allows for 15.5 CuFt of cargo space, and there is a pass through with the rear 64/40 seats folded down. For long trips the gas tank is small but you get about 300 miles of range with the gas engine in use (42 mpg). I'd have to stop for toilet breaks long before I reached 300 miles. The PHEV falls between the EV and the Hybrid for practicality. We drive around town 100% on electric but when we leave town the car becomes a hybrid.

I did extensive research and decided for me, in my area of the US, a plug-in hybrid is the way to go for now. We take quite a few 4+ hour trips and with the exception of Tesla, high speed charging is virtually nonexistent. Until the kids are grown, my budget is used Ford, not new or used Tesla.

Corolla Hybrid gets near 50 mpg city btw. Save gas and range anxiety and you get a quality Toyota product.

Know anyone that would drive over 700 miles in one sitting, no bathroom break? That kind of augument where this much of the range is necessary is stupid.

Hyundai Ioniq hybrid 👍 I get 62mpg in the summer. And the dct is actually good. Wouldn't mind a Lexus either though.

I'm pretty sure the base Ioniq hybrid is same price as the Corolla.

Wait until January before you fall in love with pure EV. EVs suck in freezing weather

The only hybrids I trust are Toyota. They invented the fire hybrid vehicle and have more experience. I don’t think the world is ready for full electric vehicles.

My 2019 Camry Hybrid LE can do the wheel spin. You should test drive one in Sport mode. Stop giving hybrids a bad name.

On a 20 hour trip you would stop at least five times to stretch your legs, use the bathroom and have something to eat or drink anyway. There’s five hours regardless of whether you take a hybrid or an EV. That’s one stop every four hours.
