I usually never click "____ I Hate" videos, but I love trope videos. The reason I think is because I think about my own books, so I think hmm would they love or hate it? Is there a way I could change it a little bit to make them go from hating to loving it? So I enjoy hearing people's views on tropes.

Black and White morality annoys me to no end. The best written characters to me are the ones that exist in the grey. This is not to say that all characters that are pure good or pure evil are terrible by default, it's just that it's difficult to make them compelling when they are such. Characters should feel like real people and real people are complicated and often a mess of different emotions and morals. "The road to hell is pathed with good intentions", an interesting and immersive villain is one that does bad in the hopes of acheiving good in the end... because that's often what real people do, they don't see themselves as evil, they see themselves as just doing what is necessary, beleiving the outcome will justify the methods.
