This was one of your best colab lessons. I've watched a ton of your videos but missed this one somehow. This was very timely for me and so well explained. Great job on this one to both of you.

But what about shallowing the club? That seems to bend the left wrist more than flat, the opposite of cupping the wrist.

Awesome lesson. You are both terrific. Thank you.

Will this wrist set help rotation in the down swing? I've been told I don't set my wrists at all in the backswing. I end up scooping at contact. LOVE your collabs.

As a chronic over back-swinger, I’ve been able to finally rid myself of this disorder … with a great thought your buddy Tom Saguto shared on his channel … when you reach left arm parallel the back swing, it’s at this point that all the work for your wrist and arms is over, finished, done … from there it’s only the hips and shoulders which finish the back swing.

I’m thinking the basics of the hinge concept you guy show here — fits like a perfect puzzle piece, to prevent collapsing your elbows and going past paralleled at the top … does that make sense to you? Great video, keep’em coming!

“Check it on video, your feel sucks”
So true lol.
I have progressed more this year than in my entire life simply by videotaping my swings and practicing with a purpose. Also, your videos are major contributor as well.

I do that and my club is dead shut which keeps my right arm way too much on top of the left and feels like I can't complete my backswing

I think I understand the wrist set at the top but what about the full extension of the right wrist to like a tray which they always teach should you extend the right wrist to a tray or just a normal extension of the right wrist let me know thanks for your help Jack

Would the chopstick be a sub for the G-snap without the click sound?

It's funny many of the best players in the world today have bowed lead wrists at the top

I’m glad at around 12:00 you stepped in and clarified how the toe should point down slightly closed at parallel. John was showing toe pretty much straight up. He agreed, better closed than open.

Should I preset my wrists and then backswing?

My god, John is THE MAN. Eric, you need to bring him on more often.

Eric - is the wrist set the same for the driver?

Is it fair to say the left hand shouldn't feel like it hinges (at least initially)? It was mentioned briefly in the video. I'm coming from the over hinging, cupped left hand. When I forcefully keep the left hand flat, it feel like I'm getting no power from the hinge. I look at the swing at the top and its not exactly 90. Maybe 80 degrees, I'm sure it reaches 90 degrees with the force of a full swing. The sensation is as if there's no hinging taking place.

Eric, I like you bringing in other coaches into your videos. It adds a lot to understanding what is explained as a result of the conversation /dialog and clearing out some ideas/thoughts. Two minds are better than one I suppose 😊

Great lesson. John wrote an outstanding book on putting skill development (Hole It), it would be awesome to see him share some of his putting advice.

Been out of the game for a while, doing a refresh of your vids and came across this one and the WALL drill, this will help my wrist orientation and then to push the left hand down at take away, I believe this is going to help me with WHICH hand to dominate at take away, thnx Great Work 💪

How does this work with bowing the lead wrist?

stephenpatti

Sorry but Steve Johnson explains this much simpler in about 5 minutes. No chopstick needed. Push with the bottom 3 fingers of the left hand and pull with the middle 2 fingers of the right hand during your backswing. Alot less confusing. It gives proper wrist hinge and straightens the left arm. Most of your stuff is good but sometimes get lost in all the talking. Keep up the great work.
