This needs much more exposure. These antibiotics can really take a permanent toll on you. I hope the pharm companies are working on developing less toxic antibiotics.

Excellent, thank you! Unfortunately many of Cipro's side effects are delayed by weeks or even months, so victims never even have the opportunity to stop taking the medication! By the time the crippling side effects surface, it's much too late. These are horrifically destructive & stealth chemicals we're talking about here. Bayer and J&J need to be held legally responsible for the lives they've destroyed.

Want to give I word of hope, I was prescribed levofloxacin for a simple UTI, a week ago and my life changed for the worst, was in a lot anxiety to the point that I went to the ER 3 times, for tendon pain also, I was terrified, but I turned my eyes to the only one that can change anything and that was Jesus crist promise my life to hes service and here I'm my anxiety its gone in 97% and pain in a 95%
Also have been taking calcium citrate and magnesium, but I know God can re store your mind and body.. hope these can help anyone

They are still giving them out like candy today in 2024. My doctor prescribed them for me.

Thank you for showing me this! I started passing kidney stones at age 21 and I had many infections which I was given Cipro for.  Now I will be able to hopefully find a better solution to my chronic pain issues.

We the people can not be spared when the Doctor refuses to change your prescription for whatever his/her reason may be. I have a uti and was prescribed ciprofloxacin. After reading the warnings I went to the doctors office and requested another antibiotic that was not in the floxcain class only to be told that was what the doctor wanted me on and the doctor refused to prescribe any alternative. My feelings about it not being in my best interest was irrelevant.

Thank you. Just last wk. (10-5-18) I refused the cipro for preop eye gtts. My dr tried to give me another fluoroquinolone - but Thank god I'm an RN and I knew it was just another of the same thing. OMG If I were a lay person, I would've said "Oh, OK thanks for the alternative Oxofloxin" instead. I refused that too & was finally prescribed Tobramycin :-)

I took levofloxacin 500mg for my uti and I got skin rash & itching after taking 1 pill but my dr advised me to finish all 5 tabs with anti allergens. Now Idk what to do after watching this. I’m afraid if I suddenly stopped, the bacteria might be resistant to antibiotics.

I took Cipro for A KIDNEY INFECTION. But I also had a chronic itch all over my body. I tried everything on the market. I was half out of my mind. Sleeping under a mosquito net every night. Then I took the Cipro, and by the 3 night, all the itching was gone. 100% gone. I have love for Cipro.

taken cipro many times zero side effects. Millions of others do as well. It sucks but hey penicillin which saved millions of lives kills some people as well. Sometimes bad reactions happens but the perent of ppl who dont have a reaction and get help is huge. I know my doc tried 2 other antibiotics for my uti. He has to put me on cipro now because he is worried about going to the kidneys. But the risk/reward is so low compared to the good that it can do

I was shocked I can hardly walk in so much pain they keep blaming everything on neuropathy I have had these antibiotics and continue getting worse. All these years and they still hand them out. I even asked my Dr and was told I need it. So here we are taking it and laying in bed sick

Why would any Doctor Prescribe an Anabiotic that’s so hard for her to the body why why not take it off the market

I just got put on this 3 days ago and it made me so sick and tired. I also have wpw amd was in afib this morning when it was time for my morning dose I didn't take it I refuse to feel that way I am a single mom of 5 kids and can't be to sick to cook or work.
