Well, to tell you you the truth I think that Testaments are not so bad. Yes, I agree with you about plot and language of Handmaid's tale: they are created because thet are supposed to be vague and open-ending. Anyway after reading Handmaid's tale the reader feels lost. Testaments are the key to understand why Gilead was born and why Gilead has to be destroyed (Gilead delenda est:Nolite te bastardes carborundorum). A key may be pedestrian. Lydia's chapters hs to explain and are allowed to contain cliches. Holly (Agnes or Baby Nicole, as you like...Holly was the name that June chose for her baby in the tv series) and Daisy are teenagers and their language is simple.
