So simple that I'm sure the idea will meet with great resistance! Great video.

I had a friend who was worried about the EMF his computer put out, so he made a faraday cage around it (then wondered why it would no longer connect to his wifi.)😁

I worked on a project with Unilin (R&D branch of Mohawk), we used a conductive carbon ink absorbed into a melamine impregnated cellulose paper. Then used that as one of the layers in tongue and groove flooring. Heat pressing everything together to set the melamine. We used carbon inductive coils to transfer power from a thin sub-floor layer operating at 1MHz, also made of parallel connected carbon inductive coils with a ferritic bottom to force the magnetic flux to be half the thickness of the floor board.

This project worked well, but when COVID hit the project was scrapped. Mohawk was thinking of releasing "smart" flooring. Capable of high-resolution zoned sensing, heating, and power transfer capabilities. Imagine a standing light fixture with no cables ;). Would've been great.

I actually envisaged this many years ago but, not being an inventor, just filed it away in memory. This has surely got some good applications including home heating. Putting it on a wall would lose a lot of heat to the wall itself. How about using it this way on the floor? Heat rises so it would go the the area which needs heat.

Great, I have been looking at alternative heating sources and this sound eminently achievable (looking forward to a warm ohm)

You should be able to paint a capacitor with layers of conductive paint and non-conductive paint as a separator. That way it should be easy to get a large surface area while keeping the distance between the plates absolutely tiny.

I am so glad you have come back to this subject. I was pondering low energy heat sources.

Capacitor, layers of conductive paint with layers of regular paint in between.

What are cracking idea mate I need to try this out also Imagine hiring a messy painter to use that graphite and carbon-based paint to stop EMF. You'll end up with walls that not only block electromagnetic fields but also turn your house into a live wire circus. Shocking home decor at its finest!

Dr. Smith, how might it work for an electrode coating? Dang, you could make an entire wall a heater panel.

I used to light the fluorescent tube bulbs up my walking around the carpet in West Texas. Didn't even have to do that during a sandstorm. During a sandstorm they would light up so long as they were not in a circuit that had a connection to ground.

Really exciting project for these chilly months. As always great video, great ideas.

What makes me excited about this is that if you can find 2 different paints with the right impedances(dissimilar), then you may be able to make some type of TEG out of it. This same idea has been done before using a graphene based ink and a graphene oxide and graphite paint. Thanks for the video Rob!

Makers of electric guitars have been using this conductive carbon paint for more than 25 years to shield the pickup and control cavities from EMI/RF. The nature of gain circuitry in amplifiers demands these sorts of measures. Some makers use adhesive copper foil with conductive adhesive (for continuity between layers), but copper tape is more labor intensive and increases production costs.

lol I initially skipped this vid because I actually thought it was an abstract art painting vid, but on second glance the joke did make me laugh.

I'm setting up a static caravan for home so I'm completely surrounded by aluminium sheets 😊

This is also the easiest way to prep 3d prints for electroplating :)

That's probably the coolest or one of the coolest videos you have produced. 44C is 111.2F, that might be adequate to heat your house and not have to pay your criminal utility company their highway robbery prices, that one is most definitely worth sharing. Thanks Robert.
