Whisper of the Heart & The Cat Returns Double Review

Ghibli Fest came back this year, and in August 2024, fans of a certain cat were given the chance to see him on the big screen twice in the same week. Yes the original movie he debuted in, Whisper of the Heart, and his spin-off, The Cat Returns, got theatrical showings back to back, so I watched them both to see what I thought of the cat's two tales as I see if he truly deserved to have more than one life or not.

I would like to start by apologizing to you, Moonbased, for taking so long to get your request done, as I had a lot of other stuff going on, especially with work being much busier, making me think I couldn’t get this done before I start the usual Fictional Festive Season. But thanks for suggesting that I review The Cat Returns, and you too, Luke, for convincing me to do the same for Whisper of the Heart. This, however, might be the only double review I do on Ghibli movies since none of the other films got sequels. That does, however, make me want to ask all of you guys if you think there are any Ghibli movies that deserve sequels? If Disney, Pixar, and DreamWorks can make their sequels many years apart from their originals, there’s the possibility that Ghibli can do the same. No matter what kind of cat you got, be sure you always follow your heart so you can be true to yourself forever and be sure you get some whispers here and there to help you on your journey throughout life. Fictional Festive Season will begin tomorrow, and the first short video should be coming some time next week!
