How 5 year old me thought my adulthood would look like:
It's hard to face reality sometimes

To be all honesty here. I'd cry my eyes out if I got to do this dance with a loved one. It's so beautiful, elegant and sweet. I'd give anything to do this

Wow. I live in Austria, where we have hundreds of balls like that every year - and definitely not only for the upper class-, so I never realized how uncommon this whole concept of attending balls is in most other parts of the world...

No wonder Cinderella and the Prince fell in love in like 5 seconds.

If I’m one of the ladies I would be smiling and giggling like a fool because this is everything.

I have no idea why we as a species stopped doing this, at least comparatively as often as one may think our ancestors did back when this kind of music was being written. The class, elegance, and sophistication were truly something else. And the style. You can say what you want about their clothes, but I think they really knew how to dress for such occasions.

2:20 the nearest girl had the PERFECT dress for this dance, the way that skirt spun is just **chef’s kiss**

I don’t know why we ever stopped doing this. It’s almost like that planned out choreo that you only see in movies, except everyone knows what to do. It’s so cool

No joke, I often wish it would still be normal to dance like this and that there were more balls etc. This looks and feels so much better than going to grind in some crammed club. Imagine finding the love of your life at such a dance. The dream of every Jane Austen fan.

If more parties and events were like this I would fight though my anxiety to be there and participate, because everyone deserves to feel this magical.

This is how Hungarian proms look like:) Imagine this with 50+ dancing pairs, it's really fun. We learn the dance for 3 or 4 months then perform it on the big night

Austrian here. We also had a ball during the last year of school. At first, I hated attending the dance classes. It always got so late, at the same time we had to prepare for "Matura" which is the final exam to get a degree. We also had to write a diploma thesis and loosing a whole day per week to attend dance classes was extremely stressful. But when the day came to dance in front of hundreds of people, every exhausting thing was forgotten. It was one of my best experiences I've ever had, and I can't describe how glad I was to attend the ball. I hope that this tradition will never die ❤

When you realize that this isn't a movie and really in some part of the world some people actually had the chance to participate in something so magical in real life....
*cries tears of sorrow for not being able to dance like this*
*cries tears of joy for still getting to witness this beautiful masterpiece*

Sitting here judging the dresses over how well they spin 😂

The girl in the full circle skirt is clearly stealing the show tho. Such a nice movement to the dress when she twirls around.
