I work in film/tv and have built extremely expensive custom sound carts as well as support/follow carts which are built like tanks, very heavy and do their jobs extremely well. However, my team and I are always looking for lighter weight more modular solutions. These are by far the best commercially produced lightweight modular system I’ve seen and we will definitely be adding some of these to our sound trailer. Really excited to get my hands on some of these and start designing some additional support carts. Then we’ll start having custom laser cut foam inserts made to accommodate various pieces of gear. So stoked!

They said they were going to introduce adaptor plates to fix the stacking problem between half boxes at the bottom and full boxes on top.
Another reason i like this system is the color. Milwaukee packouts turn pink after sitting in the sun for a long time, Black continues to look fine.

The cooler is white because it will stay cooler longer then black.

This video helped me understand Stack Tech system. Thank you for your detailed explanation.

the 2 shelf system is out and runs 130 dollars, would love to see a review on that. I myself is switching over from Rigid system to the toughbuilt due to its storage and transport system. Great video!!

21:30 This is probably by design. The internal dimension of the full with boxes would be smaller if that would capabable to go top of two 2 half with box. Maybe if the half with boxes could go asimetrical, but in that case you have to have both left and right of the half with boxes.

the grab and go capability from garage to truck is actually insane one box one set of tools that has an indended spot no matter what. storage usage transport all one system. goddamn

Biggest reason I chose to go with toughbuilt stack tech is because it's black and modern, plus it was cheaper than milwaukee. So far I have been extremely happy with toughbuilt. Can't wait for the full lineup to be released

For the tumbler, make sure the lid is on tight and non leaking. The moment you tilt it back to move the unit around you will find out if you do or not.

Currently my storage / organisers favourites are Dewalt and Festool - I have run Toughbuilt stuff for other things like tool belts / mitre saw stand. I'll be adding Toughbuilt storage to my line up: the stuff they have done is nothing but truly impressive! Shame they are all so expensive and in this matter I reckon Dewalt will still have an advantage.

I feel like these have BY FAR the cleanest exterior geometry. Also, everything is “one touch/one hand” operation, and the black is massive. I work in an industry where a bright colored system just wouldn’t cut it. Can’t roll up to a film set with anything that might show up in a reflection. These are gonna get whacked on the corners, and that steel corner plate will keep em really protected. The “tray” top is great for small parts and tools. They’re also doing a rolling drawer, and I’m gonna go ALL drawers, so the “no opening mid stack” is a non-problem for me. These look like they’re for a well adjusted adult as opposed to a nicotine-dependent construction bum who’s looking for his next Michelob Ultra.

Nice review. I have the Ridgid boxes. They are nice but the hooks to connect each box to are wearing out. After a year of constant use, some of the latches wont stay tight.
I'm really digging ToughBuilt, im probably going to switch to it.

I have the Mwaki packouts and a lot of the drawer units. My complaint about them is that if you look at them at eye level, there's a pretty sizeable 5-7mm gap above each drawer. And because there's no sort of back stop behind it, dust, dirt, water, insects, whatever can get in through there. So if you're keeping things in there expecting them to stay clean and dry, you better take a closer look at how vulnerable it really is. I couldn't tell in your video if these drawers have a big gap too. That ambulance stretcher work bench thing is very cool though. I almost want to get one and mount some packout wall plates on the top of it haha

Hey! Great video!!! Very informative! I’ve been very slow to get into packout and haven’t gotten far yet but now I’m going to really have to make a big decision! Also a bit of constructive criticism, you should try to avoid stating obvious things continuously when you go and edit the video with reading images or try to be sure to mention it only once. Also with stating each box is ip65, that’s clearly well known for each box. Fill us with more of your great information and stop repeating yourself. 😊 thanks again tech made easy.

Loved this video! great to see reviews coming out for the 3 drawer tool box, based on other videos TOUGHBUILT is good at seeing what the community has to say and makes changes! they already have an adaptor coming out later for the two smaller boxes to hold a full size box on top. I hope they also see this video and can come out with solutions for the locking system on the drawers!

Love the 4 wheel cart and the accessories you can add on the sides. But I wish their tool box opened from the front though like milwaukees does. Saves you from unstacking everything cause that can be a real pain just to get access to one tool. Other than that I do like this system better so far. And prices weren’t as bad as I though. Another awesome review bro!

12:07 can we see the locking mechanism under the boxes?

The advanced transporter is easily the coolest addition

I have a set of sawhorses and the belt / braces and a number of pouches. The pouches are rigid and tools cannot be forced in to the pouches as you would possibly with a typical tool belt . However, I believe that due to the various pouch configurations, they will generally suffice for most applications. They are very sturdy and drill holsters work well. I've invested in Systainers and these work well and are surprisingly tough (if not abused too badly. The STACKTECH looks like a brilliant solution - particularly like the drawers - Systainer as far as I'm aware do not have drawers as spacious as the Toughbuilt ones. Market needs to keep an eye on this range. Drawbacks for me are cost and possibly weight. Great products though.
