We’ll show you the best and EASIEST way to render walls with sand cement render. Rendering is probably the hardest skill to learn with Plastering.

But we’ll show you the best plan to get great results even if you have no previous experience.

Don’t take me wrong, you need to practice.

But Rendering didn’t have to be gruelling. Just follow this process and you’ll be fine!

Let us know what you think by commenting below. And please like and subscribe to our channel for more up to date ways to render and plaster.

Thanks for watching. I'll see you one the next one.

Cheers.

If you're doing this in or around Edinburgh. Get your sand from. Thistle timber. Its well worth it. Its a pleasure to work compared to other places. Super fine almost like brown sugar, no stones and comes almost dry so its easier to pre-mix.  Also its from a local quarry so a bit better for the environment and the colour matches any old mortar or render

Thankyou for this, clear, concise, to the point and wish you were around years ago when I started tackling the home jobbies.

Watching you enabled me to render an 80 foot wall, something I've never done before. It looks pretty good too.
The problem I came across is after I combed the scratch coat some of it must have "Come forward" from the rest as it set. When it came to the top coat the scratch came through in a couple of places. Which meant I had to make the top coat a little thicker.
But you are brilliant at what you do & make things much easier they way you explain things. Thank you.

tried the weberend OCR based on your recommendation and you are right, its a game changer. Just add water, sticks like bonding and sets at a good predictable rate. Very smooth, no stones and not that expensive on a small job like garden walls. Used it out doors and it rained but it still set. Sand and cement would have been washed off the walls

I have to patch up some render after a leak repair. Your instructions will help me get a good finish. Thanks

I done my own walls s and c render. Slightly overworked a few areas but happy with it. The key is a good fine sand i believe. Finer the better

Your videos have been so helpful in getting my diy render skills up. Would love to see more on beadless corners

Perfect! I'll just add something that was really hard for me to understand when I was learning. Floating is the process that prevents the render from cracks. The circular motions swirl the render inside and you get no cracks with regular sand/lime/cement renders. With ready renders like the Weber it's really hard to get cracks, I wish I knew that before my first attempt.

I've been plastering for 40 years.... render has always been a bit of a nemesis for me, this boy is the fizziest drink in the fridge, trust me.

Great advice yet again. Just one question, which always confuses me. How do you float a bell cast bead?. Cheers Blanie looking forward to more of your vids 👍

Sick of crap sand full of stones. Feel ya pain. Ive started running sand thru some mesh to get all stones and pebbles out. Yeah takes some time but its worth it

We was always taught to level the scratch coat and load it with lime to hold back the second coat
