Eivor is an angel walking on Earth. Seen her a few times always absolutely mesmerising. Even walked 4 miles through London to the Royal Albert Hall to watch her sing 5 songs when she was supporting and outshining another band.

this was filmed at stigen farm in norway, and all people had to come there by boat and walk up the mountain to the venue, same for all the equipment.
eivør is a classically trained sopran and holds a masters degree in traditional nordic vocal techniques. at the age of 41 she has already more than 25 years of experience as professional musician with ten studio albums, countless collaborations and score for both computer games and TV series. currently she is touring with heilung and an upcoming festival summer and a european tour with ásgeir (very cool, too) and her sister elinborg, who is also a singer.

Trodlabundin's English translation means Spellbound. It's an old Norse story (tune) about a woman caught under the spell of a wizard. I like the guttural effects and sounds correlating nature spirits. Tribal, powerful, pagan and primal. Gorgeous visuals, too.

I've been fortunate enough to see Eivör perform live, twice, and YES it is incredible that the internet exists, so that so many more people get to see her perform, BUT I have to say, watching her live, is just another world. It's magic!! Pure magic. Videoes, technology etc, can never capture the soul of live music fully, - so remember to get out there, and connect with live music, whenever you can!! <3
